    I have a hell of a lot of crap I want to get rid of. Like upwards of ten "Valentine's" teddy bears. You know, the kind holding the little hearts.


    Other than that, I just keep stuff they give me (or lend me). Jumpers, pyjamas, even a nintendo wii. I figure, unless he's got the guts to come and face me in order to get it back, I can damn well keep his stuff!

    Does this assuage lingering feelings of melancholy from dumping someone? I had weird ex-melancholy yesterday.


    I broke up with a very decent, funny, smart guy last year. We'd been together for a number of years but it just wasn't working anymore. It wasn't anything he'd done wrong, but we disagreed fundamentally on time and money and living space, and it was just time for me to move on. He was understandably really, really hurt. I've left lines of communication open, but he hasn't said a word to me in months.


    Yesterday I had that weird "OMG LOL I SHUD EMAIL HIM AND SEE IF HE IS DOING OKAYS LOLOLOL." No intention of ever getting back together with him, but like, he's a decent human and I'm sorry that we'll probably never be friends. So I did not email him. I should not email him. He does not want me to email him.


    Can there please be an exhibit that tells people not to email each other? Even if it's just a repeated recording of "girrrl, don't you email him"?

    @tscheese: I think there is such an urge sometimes not to totally sever ties, because you've spent so much time with someone and just no them so well that it's hard not to want to check in. Good for you for not giving in! Maybe in a few years it will be different.

    @tscheese: Oh please, this is land o' overshare, don't mind that.


    I need some sort of email address to which I can send such messages (and other irate ones that I'd like to send to other people but know that I should not) and they will vanish into the ether.


    Sometimes, I just delete, but that's not as satisfying as hitting SEND but not having to face the consequences.

    @morninggloria: Can I put in "3 guys named Chris who all went back to ex-girlfriends"? (One cheated on me with the ex, then emailed me to break up the next day, then went back to her. Surprise, they've broken up again.)


    I am never, ever dating a guy named Chris ever again. Seriously, 3 for 3? If a guy named Chris walked up to me at a bar, I'd just walk away at this point.
