First ladies are always more popular than their husbands. With the notable exception of the Clintons and the Reagans. Laura and Barbara were always more popular than Georges Sr and Jr., for instance.

If I may: (ahem) OF COURSE SHE IS, YOU SILLY PEOPLE AT THE ASSOCIATED PRESS! She hasn't had to do anything vaguely unpopular!

In my house, I am frequently not as popular as my daughter's favorite babysitter, for instance. He has yet to yell at her, or send her to her room.

It's a meaningless rubric...! Ragglesnaggle, I hate stupid stuff, stupid AP, grumblemumble.... /shuffles off to front porch/

I read that in Russia, Michelle is getting a lot of attention not for her fashion choices but for her gardening. So in that case, it's more like her melons versus her yams.

I'm going to guess Michelle will always be more popular, because she doesn't have to make big, important decisions that some people won't like. (Other than what she wears each day, and there's no accounting for the fashion tastes of the American public).
