DUDE! She is wearing a Wolfram Mathematica keyfob! Wolfram! Mathematica! That is roughly the holy grail of programming for the lovably nerdy set (...*waves hello*), which also happens to be a set mildly obsessed with duct tape.
Oh my god. I adore this girl and I want to take her home with me and have her mentor my own daughter when she's in elementary school. How great is she? All her stuff is creative, homemade, cute and age-appropriate without being kitty-kats or Lisa Frank. If I was at the school auction fundraiser where that clutch was being auctioned I could have bought those kids a new theatre center with my bid!
Aw. I Made myself a duct-tape handbag, and a duct-tape messenger bag when I was in middle school/high school. For my junior prom, I wanted to enter the duct tape prom dress contest, but my mom wouldn't let me. Sigh.
Also, on a slightly unrelated note, this girl looks like a girl I had a crush on when I was in fifth grade. She's got that same insouciant semi-androgynous look going on. I always wished I could pull that off at 13 but, alas, I had boobs.
As awesome as she is, I just have to say a 13 year old is not allowed to have such a cute haircut! Back in my day, 13 was when you were growing out your bangs or had an ill-advised perm. Kids today - being all stylish! Get off my lawn!
