With all due respect to the adorability that was Andrew McCarthy -- it was, and always will be, Duckie for me. The ending of "Pretty in Pink" made me want to throw my black jelly shoes at the screen. That, and Annie Potts finally going "normal" and being all happy about it - still makes by inner 8th-grader seethe.
I might or might not (read: do) belong to a facebook group called "I'm Waiting For My Jake Ryan." (Created back when groups were not "universal" and only people from your college could join, so sorry for the rest of you ladies who are screwed and can't join it.)
Hmmm. I disagree about Blaine. I mean, if this were Pride and Prejudice, he'd totally just be Mr. Bingley -- doofy and easily led, but genuine. I mean, Duckie was a stalker, no? At least Blaine was asking her out properly.
maybe i've read the DSM-IV too many times, but something about Ferris Buller's drop dead charm, brilliant lies and crazy schemes screams "sociopath" to me.
@themorethemerrier: I have always thought the very same thing. Especially with that "I could dismember you with a toothpick and then go get a cheeseburger" smile Broderick sported through out the entire thing.
I love you Hortense for giving Ferris the win. You know he (both the character and the actor) is manipulating you but you don't care. He (again both) should be the dictionary definition of charisma. Too cute for words.

Pros: Independent, likes chilling with a movie and ordering in.
Cons: Jailbait!
All these movies make me pine for the pre-schlubby dude rom-com days.
