    @PetiteGal: Um, some people have very small feet. And a size 3 British shoe would fit a size 5 American shoe - certainly not unusual. And add to that, some pre-WWII shoes were sized differently than shoes post WWII.

    It's unreasonable to give judgement without knowing all the particulars. Even then shoes sizes aren't really reasonable or unreasonable, it just depends on a person's DNA and activities. #dr90210

    @Dancingfrog: I wasn't sure if 3A was a UK size or a US size 3A. The former is believable. Latter? Not so much. I am 5'2" and a 5B (US). #dr90210

    Was a size 3 foot in the 1930s the same as a size 3 foot today? And is that UK sizing or US sizing? Size 3 doesn't exist in the US. I'm size 5 (US) and I'm having a hard time finding shoes! #dr90210

    And similar lettering systems for shoe width still exist today, but usually people who don't have an extremely narrow or wide foot aren't aware of it. #dr90210
