When I first saw this, I thought it was Fashion Director Randy from "Say Yes to the Dress. I'm a little assed (pun intended!) that it's not. Dr. Oz lacks Randy's finesse with the ladies.

Because everyone was just so damn nice to Hillary Clinton, when she was First Lady -- not even an elected official at that time! I was a child, and I remember the drubbing that she got, and she never (grits teeth) dealt with it in this manner, but somehow, everyone else has forgotten. #chrisbrownwendywilliams

That chimp has evil in his eyes...

On This American Life once (I think thats where I heard it, but could be wrong), there was a story about a retirement home for chimps that have worked in the entertainment industry. Apparently, they can only work for a few years when they're young, because after they reach adulthood, chimps aren't so sweet and friendly anymore. As adults they're violent and hostile and can/will attack people. Chimps aren't the sweet, cuddly animals we usually see on TV. #chrisbrownwendywilliams

@marvel girl: My dad used to tell stories about the pet chimp owned by the people who lived next door to him when he was little (oh, the sixties). Needless to say, I'm not really a monkey fan; they are like relatives that I am kind of embarrassed to be related to and don't mention. #chrisbrownwendywilliams

@marvel girl: This reminds me of "elephants on the rampage" stories. They are intelligent, social animals that reach a point with the shackles and whips and monotony and they lose it. And then people who don't bother to understand them say: I don't know what happened! He was so docile until now. Blah blah. #chrisbrownwendywilliams

@ardentlilac: Jane Goodall was on the Daily Show yesterday talking about this. She said that chimps are very social animals and that they really need to remain in their own societies, and when we humans try and remove them from that environment and make them into our pets they have a tendency to go berserk. So yeah. I'm not really about blaming the chimp here. Some animals are meant to be pets. Some are not.

And in no way am I saying that what happened to this woman is any less than unfortunate...but I think it's more complicated than saying that the chimp "has evil in his eyes." #chrisbrownwendywilliams

@FactCat: Nope, he's a wild animal that people have no business keeping in their houses. People who try to keep large wild animals who are *significantly* stronger than humans in their homes as pets are idiots.

Not that I want to imply that I don't feel for this woman. It's horrible and tragic what happened to her. But it was the result of the choices of incredibly foolish people, including hers. I hope other people thinking about keeping wild animals are thinking twice after they've seen this. #chrisbrownwendywilliams

@Gavagirl: humans have domesticated dogs and cats over thousands of years (dogs far longer than cats--cats have learned to live ALONG SIDE humans, as opposed to being entirely domesticated by them). Chimps and other primates? Not-so-effing-much. People do NOT understand what a WILD ANIMAL is. WILD. Effing WILD. Has all of its WILD EFFING ANIMAL INSTINCTS. When it gets riled or upset or sick or just plain sick-of-you, it's going to flip. It has not been bread to be obedient or docile. Why didn't anyone take this primate off of this lady before this happened? Everybody thought it was oh-so-cute, as if having a chimp around the house dressed in overalls and drinking wine (and apparently this thing ate human food, and was obese because of it) is the wild kingdom equivalent of either making your own damned baby or dressing your dog up in funny outfits. Look, my cats wear ties. I understand it's cute and a little funny to anthropomorphizing them. But I KNOW the day I don't get up to feed the cats at 6am, that's the day they're going to EAT ME. I know if I die at home, it's closed-casket funeral time. I am SO angry with this owner. #chrisbrownwendywilliams

The big difference between treatment of liberal women in the media and treatment of conservative women in the media is that conservatives are more than willing to undermine their own women, while liberals police themselves in that regard.

I would help Carrie Prejean if she needed it and I agree that she's been subjected to some unfair commentary, but the day I "stick together" with her by my own choice is the day I dig a six foot hole in my yard and curl up in the bottom for a nice long nap. #chrisbrownwendywilliams
