I just don't get why these Jennifer/Brad/Angelina articles are in EVERY SINGLE TABLOID, EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I can almost see Brad and Angie being big for sales, because they lead such an interesting, complex life and have so many frickin' kids. But why Jen? Sure, she's Brad's ex and all, but that was years ago! I don't see why she's being picked on so much, after all this time. Stars get divorces, it happens. You don't see articles about Reese Witherspoon calling up Ryan Phillipe for secret hair advice, or articles talking about who Billy Bob Thornton regrets his mid-to-late life crisis and wishes he had never left Angelina. Why do they paint Jennifer as being so sad?

I have to respect her for being able to put up with it for so long. If I was famous and got dogged in the press so regularly, I would have gone insane long ago.

Ugh. I don't think there was one in Hyde Park either. I doubt these children have developed a taste for something neither of them would likely have as it is mostly a west coast thing (though one did open in a completely different part of Chicago). Gossip Fail.

@Trulymadlyme: I'm not buying the Pinkberry thing, either. It's possible the kids wanted frozen yogurt and there is an ice cream maker in the WH kitchen, so that seems plausible. But otherwise they sound like average kids.

Its sad but Kelly Clarkson will no longer allow press to take photos of her at performing gigs, including radio festivals, due to all the body snark on her by the media.

@jigglyball: Culver's is a fast food chain that started in southern Wisconsin and basically is the best thing ever. You order and sit down and a waitress/waiter brings the food to your table and they serve crinkle fries and you can get a custard turtle sundae. There aren't any Culver's in Chicago proper, but every time I go home, I eat it whenever I get the chance.

@morninggloria: I'm from the northeast, just moved to the midwest. We passed one of these the other day and were desperately trying to figure out what a butter burger is. I was kind of disappointed that it isn't as gross as I hoped/feared that it was.

Then we had a long debate about whether it's better to eat at one of these sit-down "fast" food restaurants that kind of gives the illusion of being a real restaurant or to just admit you're eating fast food and go to McDonald's.

@mysterygirl:Debbie Downer here...There are plenty of Culvers near where I live in the Chicago suburbs. I don't think they are any better than McDonald's or BK or even Hardee's/Carl's Junior. I used to think it was amazing, then I went to California on a trip and I had In N Out. Nothing compares to In N out. NOTHING.

As far as the custard goes, it's good, but local custard shops (or even Oberweis, I know it's not custard, but their ice cream is amazing) does it far better.

@ShinyMcShine: The only thing special about a butterburger is that they slather the bun with butter. Culver's is no better than McDonald's in my book. I don't even eat burgers, but I think McDonald's fries are a thousand times better tasting than Culver's.

I once lived down the street from a Sonic (in New Mexico). There's a trendy frozen kefir n' fruit place down the street from where I currently live. And while I respect the individual deliciousness of each of those establishments, Culver's is king of my tastebuds.

@morninggloria: ZOMG! I can't believe there is basically a Culver's thread! My first job ever was at Culver's in my hometown in Wisconsin when I was 15. I later moved to Minneapolis and found myself making frequent trips to the one on the outskirts of St. Paul, and now I live in LA where there are no Culver'seses, and that makes me weep. Every time I go back to the Midwest to visit family and friends, I eat at Culver's roughly once a day. CULVER'S 4EVA.
