    @beastybeatsy: My first week consisted of a few awkward small group moments, asking "What's your major?" and "Where are you from?" a thousand times each, and getting lost inside the dormitory several times (everything looks the same everywhere in every floor).

    @Oh, sugar!: But then maybe he shoulda mentioned this to Kate? If my partner tells me they don't want me going out, I rationally explain that sometimes, I need to. Just like sometimes, my partner needs to (and I highly doubt Kate was going out all the time, either.)

    If I felt like I needed a little me-time, I'd come to an agreement with my wife like an adult. Not rebel like a frat boy away from his parents for the first time.

    @heatherwritesstuff: Exactly. When you have kids (or are in a committed relationship for that matter), "me-time" has to be scheduled in. It kinda sounds like he would say to Kate, "I'm going to visit so-and-so tonight" and if that is the case, I don't really blame her for saying no.
