    That part about the time machine and his mother made me sad. It was sweet and bizarre at the same time. I have a soft spot for fucked up people, Steve-O included. Glad he has friends like Knoxville and Tremaine. It must have have been really bad for them to all gather at once like that to forcibly move him to get help.

    Even though he was a totally shit dancer on Dancing With the Stars (yes, I watch it) you could tell that he really was trying to get the most of the experience. I blame half of it on his partner, who was horrible. Anywho, he seems like the kind of guy who really wants to turn his life around - drugs or no drugs, anyone with that kind of determination gets a gold star in my book.

    @electricbubbles: I hated Jackass but was pleasantly surprised at how sweet he seemed on Dancing with the Stars (I watch that show with zero shame, because it is one of the only things on TV where I can catch myself with a huge smile on my face without even realizing it). There was something really appealing about him, like I wanted to reach out and give him a big hug.

    This was a tremendous documentary. It's amazing he didnt die. It really is. But I am glad he is sober now and seems dedicated to maintaining it.

    Also, SO SAD about his mom. His ravings about wanting to go back in a time machine made me want to ball. My mother died in three years ago and I still want to go back in a time machine and I'm stone cold sober. Dealing with grief and addiction at the same time would be hell, I imagine.

    I once read an interview with Steve-O where he came off as a really nice guy. I was coming from a stance that he was a total asshole, so I was really surprised. I'm glad he got the help he needed.

    @Diziet_Sma: People who live to such extremes are always interesting to me--not necessarily admirable, but interesting. But I think it is cool that he's being so forthright about this and perhaps educating people.

    @Diziet_Sma: I find this incredibly insensitive. A "car crash"? This man is suffering from addiction and is clearly in an immense amount of pain. I find it can totally make you "think about life, the universe, and everything in a different way." Look at what substances are capable of doing to a person. Look at how far, we as people, are capable of falling. I think that's sad and heartbreaking, yet completely awe inspiring at the same time. This man's life isn't "dull." It's been about hitting rock bottom and fighting his way back. That isn't dull. It's courageous and brave and insanely difficult.

    I knew from the first episode of Jackass I watched that the drugs were running rampant in that crew. I couldn't watch the show because of the feeling that I was watching the drug fueled antics of lunatics. It seemed almost exploitative. Turns out I was totally right.

    Cheers to Steve-O. It's really hard work to be clean, especially after doing all the drugs I imagine he did. As much as I dislike his personality, I admire him for being forthcoming about his addiction. I wish more people would be this honest about addiction, it could only help.

    @wednesdayam: I wasn't saying only people on drugs could do crazy shit, only that the people on Jackass were clearly on drugs and doing crazy shit. I don't understand how that message got lost, but it clearly did. Sorry.
