"Yasmin le Bon's daily life: "If lunch is at home then I tend to eat up leftovers from the fridge. I'm the leftover queen. I can't help it. I might mix them into an omelette or throw them all into a soup. One of the children won't eat soups any more because she's worried what old food I've put in it. Simon's mother, Ann Marie, often comes round with homemade bread and cakes.""
Sigh. This was supposed to be MY life. I was supposed to marry Simon LeBon dammit! #stephanieseymour
All these Ayn Rand devotees have no real concept of how intellectual and morally bankrupt her philosphy is. I'm okay with college students going through a Rand phase, but adults who still embrace her bs are, imho, permanent adolescents who think the world can be boiled down to simple ideas like radical selfishness. #stephanieseymour
Vivienne Westwood: best advice ever. That's why I refuse to try stuff on in the hideously lit fitting rooms of (amongst many others) H&M, it'll ruin my self-esteem for weeks. #stephanieseymour
@ketamineKitty: It's kind of funny to me that everyone thinks it's artistic when he pervs on beautiful young women. Just because he has a better gimmick than most when it comes to getting them to pay attention to him, his revolving-door-obsessions are genius. #stephanieseymour
While I have many, many problems with Ayn Rand, I must admit I like the designs featured in the article. However, when I first saw them, they struck me as more Gatsby than Galt. #stephanieseymour
Henry Holland and I have the opposite feelings about NYC. I spend most of my time thinking about how I can get out of here.
Also, Manolo Blahnik: if "celebrities" didn't wear your shoes you wouldn't make as much money as you do. You do not get a choice who buys them. Sorry. #ragtrade

I don't think I have an addiction to Diet Coke, but I do really like it. I do switch to the decaffeinated DC later in the day so I can enjoy my favorite beverage but also sleep at night!
I see a lot of people commenting that they are worried about osteoperosis and taking calcium supplements.
FYI: Make sure you take the right type of supplements. I believe that Calcium requires either Vit. C or Magnesium in order to be absorbed. Ask a pharmacist, preferably at a holistic pharmacy. Or try Wholefoods, where the supplements staff tends to be knowledgable.
Of course, cutting back on caffeine helps a lot, too. :)
I had a nasty energy drink addiction when I began my newspaper job - until I was assigned to drink a dozen brands within a weekend for an energy drink guide. My stomach never forgave me (I was doubled over in pain) and I never touched a drop since. Besides, the energy drink buzz usually lasts no longer than a half hour before the comedown.
I'm now getting into the pure cane sugar sodas like Dublin Dr. Pepper and Mexican Coke. Their rarity at stores is stopping my addiction to them.
I don't necessarily think Diet Coke is worse than other things people put in their bodies. That being said, if you are having chronic headaches and can't figure out why, and can't get much relief from medication, try cutting out the Diet Coke. I used to drink 2-3 cans a day and was having terrible problems with migraine - getting one that would take me out every three days or so. After trying about 7 different medications with no relief, I finally went to an osteopath who put me on an elimination diet, and the first thing he told me to eliminate was aspartame - meaning no more Diet Coke (or sugar-free yogurt, which I also consumed a ton of). Within two weeks the migraines had almost totally stopped. Aspartame is at the top of most dietary migraine trigger lists; even though the FDA says it doesn't trigger migraine, most people I know with migraines can't consume aspartame. I no longer consume aspartame and I now only need to take migraine meds when I feel one coming on, and not daily. I saved myself a lot of testing, an MRI, medication side effects, and misery just by kicking the Diet Coke habit.
@SanjulaJebbers: While aspartame doesn't trigger my migraines, it does give me some fierce headaches (they feel qualitatively different than my migraines). I started getting them after I gained 10 pounds drinking pop all the time when I first went to college, and switched to diet. I quit gaining weight, but within 3 months or so I started having these killer headaches on a pretty regular basis. I finally worked out that it was the delicious coke zero and am back to sugar pop in small doses instead. I'm glad you were able to do so well!
@Azraelle: I don't mean any disrespect, but I refuse to believe that. How long/how much did she smoke? I just quit smoking in April after 13 years of heavy puffing, and I really don't think quitting soda could be THIS freaking hard.
@bananastand: It's everywhere. It's promoted as safe and healthy. If you go out, sometimes the ONLY non-water option is pop, so if you want something with flavour you're stuck. There are huge societal pressures to quit smoking, and huge pressures not to quit drinking soda. Their relative addictiveness may vary by person, but the outside forces each person has to deal with will be about the same.
I drink 4-5 cans daily. No regrets!!! I bring 3 to work, and have a couple when I get home. I have no problem with insomnia, and I have milk in my cereal every morning, so I'm not concerned about osteoporosis (also, no family history). SUCK IT HATERS!
