    God Tatiana!

It's almost sad that you must be gorgeous on the outside - because you are so talentedly gorgeous on the inside. I bet few in your modeling world even know that about you.

And for all the hard things a model has to do and see, I'm glad there's one out there who's not a 13 year old uneducated Lithuanian - but is instead thoughtful, intellectual, inspired, mature.

All this stuff is just fuel for the fire, fodder for your book. Your true calling is so completely obviously writing my dear, not pouting!

That was a fantastic article, if heartbreaking. I had never heard of her before today, either.

Thank you for this. It's beautifully written, and it brings out the real pain and sickness of something that the general public prefers to see as a sort of glamourous tragedy.

You're a hell of a writer, Tatiana. Keep planning that book and taking notes ("bewildering curlicue of moments" - wow!) because I for one will be first in line to read it!

Am off to read the VF article now.

@littlebunnyfoofoo: Seconded. You *must* write that dreamed-of book. I'll definitely buy it.

They all knew, and nobody directly intervened.

but wallis made clear over and over again that she accepted the treatment from claude and that she loved him. it seems unlikely anybody would've been able to help her. she would've just returned to him again and again.

Modeling sounds like it is so dehumanizing and horrific..why keep doing it?

I mean, if you see it eroding your sense of self, and you are treated like an object, why not get out?

@TheUptightMidwesterner considers North Face and Sorel high ...: It's not my profession, but it seems from this and other postings Tatiana has done, that the balance of interests tends to continually fall to continuing, because quitting means giving up a job that others envy, that pays well, and that doesn't require a lot of "work." It also always seems like inertia plays a heavy role.

But, this is just what I get from reading other people'es stories.

    @sportz.star:

@TheUptightMidwesterner considers North Face and Sorel high fashion:

    this might help:

    [jezebel.com]

    and maybe this:

    [jezebel.com]

and she might laugh at the "pays well" part. And the "work" part. And I'm gonna guess the "envy" part.

For her, I'm guessing from reading all her posts, it's a job she just loves. There are good parts and there are bad parts. The good just outweigh the bad.

Tatiana, I hope this is all okay and I'm not speaking out of turn.

@Sukie in the Graveyard: I understand that, and I have read all her posts, but I still don't understand the benefits versus the sacrifice. Maybe I was just asking out loud, I don't know. I cannot wrap my brain around it, and my primary job is one of the most stressful in the world..
Honestly, I just don't think I could take being a model with all that she describes..

Tatiana you are a much stronger woman than I...
