I'm so pumped for The International because it involves three of my favorite things: Clive Owen, the Guggenheim New York and directing by Tom Twyker. I really like Twyker's work that involves techno music and running all over the goddamn place.
@KatsMeow: Wow.. epic fail people. That's part of the reason I quit reading TMZ and PerezHilton, the comments were disgusting and didn't add much to the limited discussion topics.
I am really really late for work so I am going to read through the rest of this post later but for now all I can say is that I LOVE Shawn Johnson and she may be the only person on earth that could make me want to watch Dancing with the Stars.
Re: Peaches Geldof, why the hell would you get married to someone if you admittedly didn't expect the marriage to last forever? And people worry about tey gayz destroying the "sanctity" of marriage...
I kind of wish my parents raised me like Reese Witherspoon is raising her kids. I really like that kind of old-fashioned politeness. But alas, at this point in time it would just feel weird to call other adults Mr/Ms and to expect kids to call me Ms. whynotshesaid.
I feel the same way about things like thank you cards. I am trying hard to do it consistently now but I can't help but think it would have been easier had my parents instilled the habit when I was a kid.
ZOMG! I haven't thought about Paradise Beach in ages! I used to watch that show all the time in High School, I was like obsessed. It was so ridiculous, and came on the weirdest channel.
We usually introduce (new) adults to our child as Mr. Firstname or Ms. Firstname. If they want him to call them by something else, they usually speak up. But I tell ya, he gets MAJOR points for using those honorifics. People love it.
I do like to use Mr./Ms. Lastname in a professional setting or with someone who is older than I am until the person directs me otherwise. Exception: physicians, who always seem to use MY first name even if they are younger and even if we haven't met. When they do that, I use their first name as well. I hate that power dynamic-- yo, doc, let's not forget you are working for me here. Stop infantilizing me.
@Lizawithazee: Oooh I hate calling my doctors by their first name. When you're digging around in my ladybits, literally seeing more of me than anyone else ever will, I feel more comfortable creating any sense of distance I can .. primarily by calling them Doctor.
@FourInchHeels: When i was ill as a kid, all the doctors insisted that I call them by their first name. I refused - I prefer the formality if you're sticking a needle in my spine!
@FourInchHeels: Heh. I can see that. Luckily I don't see the doc that often and it's always minor stuff. I suppose if they come in and call me Ms. Withazee, I should be worried about the test results... Liza= yeast infection; Ms. Withazee= terminal cervical cancer.
@WaltzingMatilda(theOriginal): Aww, plastic surgery is really good in Brazil, if you go to good doctors and hospitals! I lived there and swear if I ever decide to have anything done I will probably go back.
@LaFemme: I guess it is fair to say that regardless of where the surgery is done - shit can go down.
@NoelleBlue: That's what I'm thinking. I mean, I know we have plastic surgeons here in Atlanta for Mrs. Usher. Even more out in LA. So what is the deal with Brazil?

A bunch of people were saying shit like, "He's so hot, I'd let him beat me any day!"
Some other person said, "Who knows what went down in that car...maybe Riri was asking for it!"
WTF is wrong with people?
