I have never really listened to Joe Scarborough before. How can anyone stand to watch that pointless stammering for more than 30 seconds at a time? Feel free to let me know if this wasn't a good example of how he usually seems.
@CupcakeMonster: He's a mixed bag. He's right of center, to be sure, and has occasional pointless outbursts. But he will often play devil's advocate (to either side) to advance a conversation on his show. He's really a moderate who thinks he is a conservative. Sometimes he and Mika trade off, with him assuming the Con and her assuming the Lib positions. It's tough to tell what he really thinks sometimes, which is what a show host should do. He keeps it moving and makes sure all sides are heard.
Morning Joe is actually a pretty good show. You usually get all sides of an argument, even if Joe or Mika has to pretend in order to get there.
And no, he doesn't usually stammer. The problem is that they are on for three hours straight, going over the same stories. They are usually their best in the first hour. After that, they sometimes struggle to make the same material appear fresh. They will even reverse sides of the argument, trying to start a new conversation on the same 4 news stories they are following for the morning. What you see really depends upon which hour you chose to watch.
She drives me crazy on a daily basis. Exactly how did she get this job? I don't want to be a hater but she hangs on every word out of Joe's mouth and rarely adds anything insightful to the conversation. She's less useful than Willie Geist and I think that's hard to be.
@stacyinbean: Ha, ha, totally on Willie Geist!! My dad watches Morning Joe, and I've commented to him more than once that I've never seen Willie Geist do anything but make Meaningful Looks of Enlightenment at what the other anchors are saying.
He just turns from one to the other to watch them as they are talking, and then raises his eyebrows as if he's never even conceived of the very notion they are discussing, and has just learned something very new to him.
I'm Amber Atkins and I'm signing up 'cause, uh, my two favorite people in the whole world competed in pageants: my mom and Diane Sawyer...I hope I end up a little more like Diane Sawyer than my mom.
Sadly, we're really not that far from having the hippie generation as the elderly. I look forward to turning their "message" back on them, especially when it comes to women's equality, gay marriage, and universal healthcare:
"Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'."
@LuvEwan: Starbucks sponsors Morning Joe, so I bet that's left out on purpose.
And now I feel dirty for knowing that, but it's only because my father just left after a week's visit, and he watches the show religiously every morning.
I think Mika was trying imply was that it's the young, hot women being favored and promoted.
So nice to hear a respected icon acknowledge that yes, women have a tough time in the industry and in general. Especially when he might be the only person some 'Stop squawking we're all equal now!' a-holes actually listen to. This was all so rational it could have been right off the Daily Show!
WTF did Alexis Arquette not give be some of that luscious heavenly wood before he had that pre-op? Damn, that was seriously a waste of a big wood!! I blame him for global warming..

This show seems pretty vapid compared to the rest of the stuff I watch on MSNBC. I'm glad I don't watch it.
