Two months after a judge put a hold on his release from prison, a parole board has granted Oscar Pistorius’ request for house arrest. He served 12 months of a five-year sentence shooting death of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. He’ll spend the remainder of his sentence on what’s termed “correctional supervision.”

Oscar Pistorius, the runner convicted of shooting girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013, is set to be released from prison Friday after serving ten months of a five year sentence. He will serve a portion of the rest of his sentence on house arrest, wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet.
