    I'd read that Roxanna Sabeiri was already reunited with her parents in Iran-- they were waiting for her outside the jail gates, and had been staying in the country with family friends for the last couple of months. That picture above of the family, by the way, is adorable.

    About the singing to the cows - has anyone read a chicklit book called "Blessed are the Cheesemakers"? I bought it when I was in Europe, so I think its not available in the States, but it is about, amongst other things, a dairy farm where the cows are all named "Maria" and the milkmaids sing "The Sound of Music" while milking the cows. Its a hilarious bit of light reading.

    A Sacramento woman survived a car crash because she was hurled out of the car, over the the highway sound wall, and landed in a plum tree in a backyard. Firefighters say she survived because the tree cushioned her fall.


    There's a rather obvious "plum lucky" pun here that's ripe for the plucking, but my mother always taught me that truly witty people don't go for the low-hanging fruit.

    @baraqiel: You would not believe how terrible some counterfeiting jobs are. I had to get trained on how to identify counterfeit money for work a couple years ago and the police officer that trained us showed the staff pictures of some especially egregious examples and it is amazing what people think they can get away with. Like replacing the face of Sir John A. MacDonald on a $10 bill (this was in Canada) with a Ken doll. Seriously.
