If you want to make adorable owls, go with amigurumi! It's pretty easy to learn to crochet, and I made a whole family of little owls for my goddaughter.

@Lilah: Those are adorable. I've been doing the amigurumi thing lately. Most recent project: a space/robot quartet for my friend's 3-year-old. I, of course, forgot to take pictures of them, but here is another example: [www.etsy.com]]=tags&includes[]=title

Now I have to figure out who would like one of those adorable owls...

Its eyes glow -- not with the wisdom one would expect from owl, but with an un-earthy light.

It will soon take flight. It will take its perch, spread its mighty wings and ask --

    WHO will join me?

    WHO will rise up

and WHO among you feathered creatures

    will joined my winged minions

    and WHO shall destroy

    The humans before us?

    WHO? WHO? WHO?

It shall then swoop down, rip the neck out of a innocent passerby -- perhaps a an child, or an elderly priest or nun -- and take wing, a trail of blood dripping from its owly fangs.

Silhouetted against the full moon -- again it asks -- WHO?

Then, my friends, we shall have make use of all those old Cold War bomb shelters.

i thought most people who did macrame were laid-back earthy types. and yet someone actually took the head of E.T. and turned it into a hardcore craft.

Mom LOVED to macrame in the early 80's. She was really bad at it though, so we had all of these plants in macrame swings that were way too short.

When I moved out, my mom dug them out of the garage and asked if I wanted them.
