Does anyone else notice they are bracing themselves before reading the news each day? Layoffs after layoffs after layoffs day after day after day. I am getting numb to it - not in a sense that it doesn't register as awful, but more like the numbness that overtakes you after a car accident. Stunned numb. It fucking sucks.

@LucilleMcGillicuddy: I know I am. Elkhart, IN is only about 45 minutes east of here, where Obama visited because of the high unemployment. The steel mills are the major employer in the other direction. I work in the office of a manufacturing plant. We should be safe, we are located well, but our business has slowed.
