And so, just because she was first, and she was clever, doesn't mean she was better for women.

I'd take that over Thomas, or Scalia any day. Scalia, who doesn't believe in conflict of interest, even when his own son is counsel on the argument presented.
Thomas, who can't be bothered to listen to an argument when there is Sudoku to be played.

She's so composed. I was overwhelmed.

I was afraid to be the Debbie Downer. But, yes, while I respect and admire her for being the great, strong, intelligent and dare I say, fierce, woman that she is...I do not agree with a majority of her opinions and often wish that she leaned a little more to the left. But, still...go, girl.
But I did get to see her sit on the 1st Circuit once and her pearls were lovely!

Bush v. Gore was set up to be a bad decision, but even in just legal terms, the Supreme Court chose the worst option.

@Admore: Bush v. Gore was a joke from top-to-bottom, not just based on outcome.

I was trying to avoid revisiting the case, which I think is as bad an example of working back from the result to the grounds for decision as any I have ever seen.

It made me very proud to be from Arizona. Then our governor outlawed MLK day.
I beat cheeks out of there at 18.

Shameful time. He forced the AZ legislature to change the way we do elections for Governor.

Also, Jon should have learned a little more about SCOTUS before this interview:
1. Televised trials? Really, Jon? You didn't know that SCOTUS doesn't have trials? REALLY?
2. When he said why she left and whether she regrets it. Everyone knows she left because her beloved husband/best friend was dying of Alzheimer's and she wanted to be there for them. Then he died relatively soon after she left and according to "The Nine" (a very well-respected book on SCOTUS), she laments that she had to resign for no reason in retrospect.
