God, I love you.
Singing in the Rain was my favorite musical as a child, The Sound of Music was a pretty close second.
I can sing any of the songs from either- Just try me.

(Totally kidding, I adore Zooey, I for one could never mistake her for that stankhound.)

I guess Pa Ingalls will have to find another way to support the little house in the big woods this winter.

You can find certain things in a size 12, but you must admit much of the truly gorgeous stuff is made for tiny people. Especially those perfect Rosalind Russell/His Girl Friday suits that I would choke someone for.

I draw the line at sewing hems, past that, I feel I'm just tempting fate. And I gave up on shopping vintage when I found a dress I couldn't've dreamed up, and it only fit my size two mom. Sigh.

But anyway, re: Rosalind Russell... that's a littel too early for my tastes. Shift dresses are my thing, and not to harp on the sewing thing, but they are so easy to make!

I feel this way about sewing machines. I try, I really do. My mom is an excellent seamstress and she has tried too. But I always screw it up. It usually starts with threading the machine wrong and goes downhill from there. I also usually end up bleeding.

And my grandmother just let me know that she was bequeathing hers to me this weekend. This was after she had to sew a 18" straight line seam for me because the machine jammed on my first three attempts.

And I spent ten minutes this morning, standing in front of my raggedy closet, late for work, sweating.
Business casual, I'm doing it wrong.

Captain Von Trapp makes me drool.
ps we're going to see the Von Trapp Family singers on Christmas. They all may be 80, so I hope they have upgraded their costumes. Drapes, Leiderhosen, whatever.

He also makes me want to jump him in a gazebo. Well, actually so does Julie Andrews. She's fucking amazing. Whoever can wear that haircut and still be gorgeous is delicious.

Also, I kind of wish the womenswear designers would actually look at menswear more often so pantlegs and shirtsleeves can be fucking long enough for once.

But there's no "tall" section at all, and long lengths are often few and far between. We Sasquatches just want equal representation, is all.

I push the envelope, as it is, and it's fairly depressing.
I am not bitter, just majorly jealous.

Them:"We've still got work to do, but we won't ned our PCs anymore tonight."
Me:"You'll want to close any applications you've got open, this'll only be a short interruption at any rate."
Them:"So we'll be down for a little bit? I've heard that before..."
Me:"Yes. Just 20 minutes."
Them:"You need us to leave, then?"
Me:"No, but you should be aware - we work in the nude."
