    I had never heard of this until I saw it on How It's Made (loove that show). "Whoa! Cool! Dipping stuff in copper!" But I never really thought about how weird it would be to have some around the house...

    I don't think I wore a pair of shoes until I was two or so, and if my mother had tried to put some on me I probably would have ripped them straight off. I still hate wearing shoes.


    Mom did, however, save all of my baby teeth. She has them wrapped in a tissue in her nightstand. It is very creepy.

    my mom did this for my two little sisters, who were adopted from China. she bronzed the shoes they were wearing when my parents picked them up from the orphanage - little bitty Hello Kitty sneakers (why yes, it was in Asia!)


    it's really cool to have that little memento of their origins.

    My mom (born 1946) has her bronzed baby shoes on display with a photo. I always thought it was kind of neat. Like, oooh your feet were so tiny! All I have is a plaster print of my hand, made when I was 4.

    My parents didn't go so far as bronzing our shoes, but she still has our baby shoes. And our baby teeth. And locks of hair from our first haircuts.

    @katie.scarlett.o'hara: my aunt & uncle have my cousin's shoes and I always got like a death mask vibe from them. (since I hang out with death masks, I know that the vibe is like)
