There's only one smell of Axe I like, and Boyfriend wears it every so often when he runs out of cologne. That one, I love. The rest flare up my asthma. I absolutely love cologne in general, however, though maybe I just love the smell of warm boy!

I will admit to love love loving cologne. I know its because my dad always wore it, which I hope is not weird. There are rules, however, it must be a good kind, i.e. usually expensive, Burberry, Guerlain, Boss, etc., and must be used sparingly. When used correctly I will lick your neck.

Also ambi-gendered perfumes are great, my parents wear the same cologne, which I think is pretty cool.

Can we address the issue of quantity here? I feel like cologne-wearing guys (moreso than girls) don't get the personal space rule of fragrance. I shouldn't be able to smell your fragrance unless I've stepped into your personal space bubble.

This is why I have a vendetta against AXE and whatever ad agency made those damn commercials.

Perfume/cologne is kind of unnecessary. Lotion/hair products/deodorant usually keeps me from smelling like ass.

But I did once date this guy who wore some sort of lavender deodorant that smelled SO GOOD. Ah!

But yeah, I don't really know guys who wear cologne.

This reminds me of the day I went shopping with my boyfriend and he smelled soooooo good. I kept smelling him and telling him how great he smelled.

He confessed to starting smoking again.

I was sort of shopping in the Macy's perfume area yesterday and had a moment with Estee Lauder's Pleasures for Men, it's what my college boyfriend wore. I closed my eyes, sniffed and went back for a moment. *sigh*

There should be mandatory classes for men AND women on how to apply perfume or cologne in SMALL AMOUNTS! A little bit goes a long way! But too many people spray large quantities on themselves and then go out in public oblivious to the fact that they are choking everynoe else's lungs.

Give me a metrosexual(puts time and thought into his own care and grooming) man any day over some macho he-man who is so afraid of compromising his masculinity that he doesn't wash his balls. I like my husband's natural scent, but he really turns me on in Chanel Egoiste or Versace Eau Fraiche.

@Diziet_Sma: Well, he happens to not be hairy, but I'm down with all that. When I worked in a spa, I suggested eyebrow waxing to a bunch of guys who came in for haircuts, if I thought they needed it. Some of them seemed nervous about it being unmanly, but they all did and looked fantastic afterwards.

I like my husband's aftershave. I bought it for him after he shaved his beard -- and I saw his chin for the first time.

And he is conservative with it -- only I get close enough to inhale.

I also have him showering now on his days off when he doesn't leave the house. That's a good smell.

@exelizabeth: find a "note" or type (floral, "oriental", citrus, etc.) you like and get s bunch of tester vials and wear them on your skin, you can get the standard ones for free from sephora or nordstrom, or you can get into harder to find niche brands from aedes des venustes or lucky scent (not affiliated with any of these vendors). also visit barneys or bergdorfs if you have the opportunity.

I love a good smellin' man. Love love love. mr. terrible wears Drakkar (!) and while I am well aware that this was every guys "Fisher Price: My First Cologne", smelling it on him makes me want to forcibly remove his clothing. He only wears a little, and not every day. Off days, he smells like Dove soap and the Bumble and bumble coconut shampoo i bought him. Somehow, though, the laundry-scent smells different on him than me. Oh! I get a ladyboner when he wears nothing scented but a freshly laundered-with-bleach white tshirt. Mmmmmm. I am also weird because I like the smell of his armpits. He hardly ever sweats enough for me to smell it, but when he does, watch out. Sidenote: I have had mini-seizures triggered by certain smells. One time it was the lip balm I was wearing, another time it was in the crowded lobby of a restaurant where I could acutely smell everyone. Another testament to the power of scent.

i wish i could tell my husband that axe body spray are for douchie frat boys but he feels that it's the strongest to combat his B.O. - which really isn't too bad. I bought him a bottle of L'Homme by YSL last Xmas which he wears on special occasions - it makes me weak in the knees when i smell it on him.

Sometimes I feel the same way when I take a stroll down memory lane and take a whiff of Obsession for Men in the cologne section of dept stores - that's what my first bf wore. Ugh - I gag when I smell Drakkar Noir....do they still make that?
