    @MichelleMyBelle: I think it's really hip to have had a bad time in high school, or at least say you did. Nobody cheers for the girls who had it pretty easy. I know I'm always the odd man out among my friends, because I am somehow miraculously the only who did not have an awful time. Clearly, there are 5 kids total who had an okay time in high school, and made everyone else miserable. *eyeroll*

    @MichelleMyBelle: I had a conversation recently with someone I grew up with, who was always considered popular, and we were talking about high school, and he said how he had "no friends" in high school. I was really surprised, but I think it just goes to show that a lot of people, more than we think, feel very, very alone as teenagers.

    @CynicalPink: I had the great delight of talking to an old, sort of crazy man about the Beatles the other day, and he said he would like to see the remaining Beatles in concert, and also maybe invite "that son of John Lennon's that looks like him" (um, both of them?) but he said he wouldn't like it if Yoko was there, because for some reason he's never liked Yoko. I said something like, "well, she did break up the band." I was mostly kidding, but my new kind of crazy friend ran with it, and now there is a new convert to the "Yoko ruined the Beatles" school.

    Now I think she's delightful in the way only semi-crazy celebrities can be.

    @NellMood: I concur. I think there is a non-sexist definition of acting like a married woman (or really acting like a married person) that involves not climbing all over strange men and when asked about your husband, not saying "Who?" Same goes for a man. Of course, we don't know what Avril was doing. But if you're making out with people who are not your spouse and you don't have an arrangement with your spouse that allows for that, then yes, you are not acting married.
