Wanna hear something strange? (No? Well too bad.) I had a dream last night and Amy Winehouse was in it. I don't remember what it was about, but it was awesome. Anyway. The whole Brad Pitt thing. IMO, too much has been made of his situation re: Jen/Angelina. While I personally don't pay too much attention, I find it kinda ridic that so many people got so riled up about it just because they happen to be wealthy slebs. Relationships/feelings etc are complicated as we all know. Sometimes people fall out of love, sometimes they cheat, sometimes they get divorced and go on to adopt 20 million kids. Well that last one, not so much. But the idea's the same, that some relationships/marriages don't last. And there's nothing unusual about that, right?

What is wrong with aging?? Would we rather have Brad Pitt looking like his face was frozen, and shiny with botox?? Wrinkles are nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed to have. I am more saddened when I ride the upper east side buses, and see all these old/older women with these shiny, glossy, frozen, unreal looking faces!!

Do Brad and Angelina own stock in W magazine? It seems like they are on the cover every other month.

And where are all the outraged cries for Brad to stop talking about the infernal triangle? Jennifer Aniston talks about it and she's a bitter hag who can't let go. Brad talks about it and he's Hot!

I think he's handsome and all but there is just something so skeevy about him that turns me right off and he just strikes me as passive aggressive.

I'm just curious if Jezebel well ever post a picture of Jennifer Aniston (or any other female celebrity for that matter) and say she "looks… wrinkly."

I thought that wasn't cool on this site? It does seem though that a lot of rules seem to get bent or ignored (in both the posts and comments) when it comes toward stories or pictures about men...

I guess I will throw in there another quagmire: posts about some male with the comment "I hate men" with many follow up comments in agreement.

Somehow I don't think a comment saying "I hate women" would be so enthusiastically received.

okay enough ranting, just one persons observation/opinion...

It is not reasonable to expect them to remain emotionally faithful. Not until we've all got those Delgado implants in our brains, and can switch off how we feel about things, or dial enthusiasm up when it gets low.

There's a reason why "emotional cheating" isn't the same as actual cheating.

@Macloserboy: It's not dubious morality. It is actual, regular morality. You cannot control how you feel about another person. You CAN control whether you fuck another person. The only questions of blame or culpability or morality come into play when dealing with issues that are within your control.

You're not a murderer because you want to kill someone--you're only a murderer if you actually do it. There's nothing dubious about this at all.

@braak: Actually, you CAN control how you emotionally interact with a person. Feeling chemistry, feeling that "click" are things you cannot control. Pursuing it further you can. You simple excuse yourself between takes and go to your trailer. You don't hang out, giggle and flirt and discuss your mutual desire for big families. There were obviously problems before Angelina showed up, but his commitment to working on them pretty much ended once he found someone else. Simply put: some people are like monkeys who don't let go of one branch until they've got another firmly in hand.

@Macloserboy: This is a lot of speculation now, but for real? You're supposed to excuse yourself between takes so that you can hang out in your trailer? What about the three or four or five hours a time that you have to stand around on-hand, without anything to do, and can't go back to your trailer because they might need to shoot again? What about the chemistry that you're supposed to have with your co-star, because that's what they hired you for--how do you establish a rapport like that while in isolation?

Moreover, why are we assuming that the connection with Angelina happened before he lost interest in Jen? I mean, do we expect people to remain emotionally attached to another person up until the exact second that they split up? How would you even know you had to split up, then?

You know, it happens. You're with someone that you think you like, your interest wanes, then you meet someone that you discover you like better. I can't blame him--Jennifer Aniston is boring as shit. Meeting someone that wants to spend her paycheck building sustainable villages in Vietnam would probably change my perspective on relationships, too.

@braak: You're a grown up who essentially told Vanity Fair your relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow ended because she cheated, so I think a little restraint is not beyond you. But Jennifer Anniston is not a pretty as Angelina, and a decade older (Gwyneth was also a decade younger than Pitt) so I can see how difficult it would be to control his "emotions." Woody Allen understands too. The heart wants what it wants.

I wasn't talking about every single person I know, even though, like I pointed out, we don't 'know' them in the first place. But in a relationship generally, I do not believe in comparing one person whom I have loved with another person I have loved. And I expect the same thing from my men.

It's just that your 'she was too boring to keep her husband so he had to run out and find someone more interesting' sentiment was a bit too Dennis Prager-y for my blood.

I think it's taken on a life of it's own. Nearly everyone has either been cheated on, been the cheater, or been the 'other' person. Many people have been all three. I just think there's a whole lotta projection going on. These three just unfortunately became the poster-children for the situation, but cheating happens all the time and is worthy of discussion from a general standpoint, I think.

What gets me the most is the venom towards Angelina Jolie; it makes me sick, especially because it comes from other women. She is attacked for adopting kids from different races, she attacked for giving birth herself. Her humanitarian work is mocked. Jolie isn't an angel and has never claimed to be. Jolie didn't cheat; she wasn't married to Anniston. Brad Pitt WAS. Yet women, including many on this board, haven't hesitated to paint Jolie as the 'harlot'. Obviously, we haven't come a long way baby.
