The Clinton movie sound ok and all, but I'm still waiting for that HBO special about Obama's War Room :: The War Room (about Clinton's 1992 Presidential campaign starring James Carville and George Stephanopolous *sp?*) is one of my FAVORITE movies - and Return to the War Room was pretty good too.
Please excuse me, but I simply must scream. *takes deep breath* I AM GOING TO SEE U2 IN SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll try to score some pictures of the claw contraption thingy.
Cameron Diaz acting goofy, giggly and dancy is always to be relied upon. "Being John Malkovich" may have been the only movie she didn't "play" that role...and in a way she did.
My mind would have to commit suicide if Josh Groban and Katy Perry were together. Can you imagine them trying to sing a duet? BLASPHEMY!He'd be in the middle of an aria and she'd be jumping on top of a cake or something.
That story about Prince Harry is unintentionally hilarious. Who the eff decided that photoshopping a black wig on him would be a good series of photos?
@thatonegirlsays: With the exception of the Daily Mail, the UK tabs don't take themselves very seriously,(in part so they can plead 'satire' to the charge of offensiveness) so I expect the aim was lulz.
...so long as that character has a quiet intensity and a broken grace that can be conveyed through Ms. Moore's silent strength.
Seriously, the only time she ever really impressed me was "The Big Lebowski." Awesome. Everything else? Being quiet and looking sad isn't RANGE, Ms. Moore.
@LaComtesse: "They don't like hearing it and find it difficult to say, whereas without batting an eye a man will refer to his dick or his rod or his Johnson."
@whynotshesaid: Initially, I watched the movie to see Tara Reid in something, since we grew up near each other and my mom babysat her when she was little (she's slightly older than I am). I thought she was good in it, but holy God everyone else was completely amazing.
@LaComtesse: I dunno, did you see Magnolia? She's pretty good at angry screaming, too. I also loved her in Cookie's Fortune, which wasn't very screamy but also not very silent.
@NellMood: LOVE her in Shortcuts, but I'm also an Altman freak. And playing against the plank of wood that is Matthew Modine and still making the scenes watchable is a major feat.
I keep reading and hearing about how Jay-Z is kind of a bigtime influential music mogul and he mentors/supports up-and-coming talent, right? Does he have the clout and/or is a big enough part of Rihanna's life that she'd listen to him? I'm always curious about these things.
At any rate, no matter why RiRi decided to distance herself from that dick CB, I'm glad to hear it.
@tscheese: I think Jay-Z put her on, so to speak...and they were so close, allegedly, that there were rumors for ages that Jay was cheating on B with her. [WHY DO I KNOW THIS SHIT??] When she won some award for Umbrella, they both were walking to the stage and she reached for his hand; he shook it off and she scowled at him HARD. It was pretty funny.
@femputer: WHOA! Way to bring the celebrity gossip, femputer! Is there video of that scowl?
@tscheese: Jay is big-time. I think he has a lot of influence. Or at least he would over me. (I've already quoted him in another thread this morning, too!)
@CloudsInMyCoffee: shite, this just shows how low I've sunk, doesn't it? Wait! I will remember Tracie's brave defense of reality tv and pretend my celeb gossip fits in there somewhere :)
I'm sure there's video - I think it was the MTV awards - if there are any tech-saavy jezzies who wanna upload that....
@tscheese: I think he produced some of her first singles. And Kanye/Jay-Z/Rihanna are in the same circle. And yes there were all of these rumors that they were having an affair, that then sort of tapered off. And I don't believe them! For what it is worth
@DinosaurDanceParty: Jay-Z was the head of the Def Jam record label, he's responsible for signing Rihanna - there's some story that when he met her and her people, he locked the door of his office and joke-threatened that he wouldn't let her leave until she'd signed with Def Jam. He's never produced any of her songs, he's not a producer. But she's described him as a mentor, and I think she has a lot of respect for him.
The awards thing was at the Grammys, I think. It was an award they won jointly, and he stood up and hugged her as she passed, so I think she assumed that he was going to come on-stage with her, so she took his hand so they could go up together. His reaction suggested that he hadn't actually planned to accept the award with her, but she definitely didn't yank him out of his seat. And when I saw it (assuming we're talking about the same thing), Beyonce was smiling like anything. Solange sort of had a bitch-face on, but Solange comes off kind of snippy fairly regularly.
