I love Jezebel, and I love to discover new animals. Double win. That said, I would not mess with these critters. They have their fruit. They have their "bish plz" faces. I will stay at a distance.
i know this is not Fine Lines, but did anyone read a book about a boy who found a coati in a museum when they were younger? i can't remember the title! but that is when i learned about this animal.
@DinaRonson : Elizabeth Cady Stanton, I presume: after a lengthy search, i found it. Funny Bananas by Georgess McHargue. It seems to be out of print, but this author did a lot of "mystery in museum" type books. Info here!
@Penny: The coati is related to the raccoon. They seem to have the same intelligence too, as a coati was breaking into cabins and stealing purses that had food in them when I was in Costa Rica a few weeks ago. They walk around with their tail sticking up, soooooooooooooo cute!
