oh man...that was so boring. and I thought I was uber bored BEFORE I started reading. about nothing. and nobody.
Are these women on some sort of contractual agreement that they must do a certain number of magazine covers per year? Sorry, I'm just tired of the same people staring out at me from magazine shelves.
The more I look at that Natalie Portman cover, the more amused I am by the extreme crazyface. But props where they're due: finally a neckline that isn't completely unflattering! (I reserve the right to assume that the dress ends 4 inches above her ankles, though.)
Kate Hudson looks like Hayden Panetierre (I cannot even begin to believe I spelled that correctly. The cheerleader from Heroes, is who I mean) on that cover. RE Britney's cover, I like little kids in suspenders. Awww cuteness.
The same six actresses have swapped covers amongst themselves again.
For real. With the exception of Lady Gaga and Britney holding her kids, you could have told me these were covers from 5 or even 10 years ago and I would have believed you.
@Ratinski: COW TIPPING. That brings up some sad and fun memories for me.
Also, I agree; I went to high school parties and, while I drank occasionally, never overindulged. I also dated druggies and even a pot dealer, but never felt the urge to try their product m'self. Generalizations FTW!
@Ratinski: Hi. I think we're from the same town. Cow tipping! Do you know lots of people think it's an urban legend (or more correctly a "rural legend" I guess)? They think it's just a really successful rumor. I had the longest, most drawn out fight about this with a boyfriend in college. IT'S REAL. WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO.
@Ratinski: I never went to a single party in high school and didn't touch alcohol or pot til I was 19. Does this mean I get to be a spoiled actress that insults all the peasants?
GUYS. What if --and I know this is utter madness-- the "Inspiration" calendar is actually that? Since we don't yet know what the other months will serve us, is it even remotely possible they might feature images of such icons as HRC, Margaret Atwood, Maya Angelou, Jessica Valenti .... and Serena Williams (oh, maybe she's just mine!)?
Alright, fine. I'll put down the Crazy Juice. But it would be nice, huh?
@JerseyGrrrl: JerseyGrrrl. You're talking about the magazine that employs the word "pimp" in such phrases as "Pimp Your Dress with these Necklaces." Obviously, nobody there is aware of Jessica Valenti. DUH-UHH.
Let's get the obligatory comments out of the way, shall we?
ZOMG THEY'RE PLUS SIZE?
ZOMG THEY'RE NOT ACTUALLY PLUS-SIZE
THEY'RE SO PRETTY
THEY'RE SO THIN
I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO BE "PLUS SIZE"
THE FASHION INDUSTRY IS SEXIST/FATTIST/STRETCHMARKIST

Why do we need the calendar? I thought Glamour was supposed to be inspired by our love of different body types, not we being inspired by getting one photo in their magazine.
1 photo=/=2 yr. subscription
Ah, subscriptions, the holy grail of the magazine publisher.
Soooooooo, would they get more subscriptions if they had a more diverse selection of models on a regular basis (something unique in the ranks of the highest-selling glossies)? Or if they chuck one photo into a free calendar? How does one best build a loyal, supportive readership for one's lady magazine?

Of course, where I come from, cow tipping is a semi-standard party game, so YMMV.
