I have almost nothing else to add besides FUCK YEAH I LOVE YOU HILLARY.

Despite the 2000s backlash, I sometimes wonder if the proliferation of feminists in my age group (22-30) is due in part to the fact that we grew up with Hillary as First Lady and saw a completely different "Mom-in-Chief" than what older generations were used to... and that was our introduction to the post.

@suzannelb: Oh I'm in that age group. I can say that it wasn't because of Hillary, though. While I think she is a stupendous role model for girls especially, I wasn't really aware of her or what she was doing until I had hit high school. During the primaries, she wasn't the candidate I supported (I'm pretty far left), but I think that her actions especially after her race ended were enough to inspire a new round of kids.

Who else saw the major look she shot Vitter when he began his questions during the hearings? Her eyes got huge and she twisted her mouth and tilted her head. It was all "Bitch, you use hookers. Why are you still here?" Then she segued seamlessly into calmly and professionally answering his questions. I wish I'd saved that shit on Tivo.

@morninggloria: I love it. Your comment reminds me that I was listening to Rush Limbaugh yesterday in the car and grinning and thinking about how he can't bother me anymore. Now instead of being the voice of the "silent majority" he truly is a bitter old man who has had his Viagra taken from him. He's kind of a sore point for me, because my family listens to him religiously. ("He's an entertainer.")

I'm so thrilled with her appointment to State that I don't even think so much about her having missed the Presidency. Things worked out well.

And lately I agree JerseyGrrl that she looks wonderful. Hair color, makeup, clothing, jewelry. She's really put it together.

I was always kind of apathetic about Hillary. When I was choosing a candidate to vote for back for the primary I just couldn't get excited about her. (She and Obama were pretty similar in the issues that were important to me.) I'm glad that she never settled to be just someone's wife or the hostess of the White House.

That's about as much passion I can muster for her.
