I read her book "The Creative Habit" - it was a required book that assigned over a christmas break for all 4 years of classes at acting school. we then had a "Town Hall" discussion about it.

I remember being a sophomore and standing up in front of all these talented (and older)) students and teachers and saying "I just think she has OCD." #twylatharp

Agh, the "sleep when you're dead" school.
I love her - I mean, the woman practically still has a 180-degree extension - but New York was a different city when she first got here.

I really do think women have even more obligations now than they did in the 60s and 70s. Especially creative women -- we're not really even "supposed" to be doing that stuff in the first place. #twylatharp

@Rooo sez BISH PLZ: In terms of the dance world, or just New York in general? #twylatharp

@prismatism: Seriously. I've been postponing my reading for 2 hours. If I got my reading done, I would actually have time to practice piano--true passion of mine.

    I'm taking notes Twyla! #twylatharp

In reply to R.I.P. Merce Cunningham
First Pina, now Merce. This has been a sad year for artists. My advisor in college was a dance scholar who wrote extensively about Merce Cunningham, and a lot of what I know about art I learned from watching Merce Cunningham's work and listening to how he spoke about it. RIP.

I am a LITTLE comforted by imagining Merce Cunningham and John Cage reuniting in the afterlife. I bet they're happy to be back together ;-)

Jesus Christ, five days? I can't decide if that's awful or merciful.
