    The husband got a box of Fran's salted caramels from his boss for Christmas-- they're worth every damn penny you'll pay. I'm afraid to go to Fran's in person, I feel like I'd lose my words and just yell "NOM NOM NOM" as I Hoovered my way through the room.


    And Seattle Jezzies, Molly Moon's Ice Cream sells homemade salted caramel ice cream. I personally thought it tasted like warm semen, but I know people who love it. Instead of the salted caramel, get the balsamic strawberry or cardamom.

    I used to live around the corner from a chocolate shop/bar/restaurant. It was lovely and the bartender was charming and they had a $10 special where you could have a serving of belgian fries, a glass of champagne, and two chocolates. I would always order to absolutely heavenly slated caramel, and some heart shaped passionfruit chocolate, and for a few hours my life would be awesome. Then I moved away and when I moved back it had closed and I have no idea where to get a divine salted caramel, so thanks, Mr. President, for reminding me.

    @formergr: Madison, WI. It was called cocoliquot. I think the company that made the chocolates still exists in Madison, but the bar itself has turned into a sushi place. Sad.

    @aubonpam: I love a hershey's bar now and then but crazy chocolate combos are the best. The bacon bar! (could use more bacon, honestly. how embarrassing is that opinion?!)

    @dirtybee needs flan :-(: This may seem strange, as I seem to have gained myself a reputation as "that one Jezebel commenter who will eat anything", but I don't love flan. I just taste the egg, and the sweet, and I just think, "man, these eggs shouldn't have died for the sake of all this caramel. They should have died under delicious Cheddar."


    I also don't deal well with tamago sushi. The mirin is just too sweet.

    @sassyredhead: Yes, on one hand, the name "Flowers for Algernon." On the other hand, yesterday this person kept referring to Blagojevich as the governor of "Chicago" appointing "Chicago's" senator. I'm not sure, but I think that mayors are in charge of cities, and Chicago is in the state of Illinois.

    I've never tried this, but it doesn't sound good to me. I'm generally anti-salty/sweet combos, but I'll try anything once. (Except cottage cheese or cream cheese and fruit, for some reason even the thought of that grosses me out).

    @mutualcraze: I hate peanut butter and chocoloate, and chcolate covered chips and pretzels and such, but good salted caramel is godly. It's like the exact appropriate ratio of sweet/salty. Sadly, Starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate is kind of gross.
