Caitlin Moran had a great piece a few months ago where she noted that all the men she knew were desperately trying to find girlfriends/wives/mothers to their children, whereas all the women were taking up kickboxing and more methods of contraception.

She correctly identified both as responses to the recession.

Meh. It's like pinching someone's arm so their foot stops hurting- dating involves so much pain and bullshit, poverty looks fun in comparison.

Well...I have wished recently that I was part of a two-income household. But then I realized I just wanted the 2nd income, without the relationship.

I really hate eHarmony ads. Whenever they come on TV I feel like punching something. I think, from now on, when I'm practicing my Tae Kwon Do, I'll envision those people from the eHarmony ads as my targets. That ought to work pretty well, don't you think?

I don't know I think they're could be a LOT of contributing factors. People are more comfortable with "meeting" people online and spending more time on-line. Also I feel like those e-harmony and the like ads are ALL OVER tv lately.

Well, that and the fact that getting fucked helps reduce stress for women. I know I always feel a lot better after a good hard pounding.

@greengrey (raidersofthelostSTAR): my cousin did this back in her early twenties (in the early nineties), in the local newspaper. She was like, "eh. I get dinner out."

@greengrey (raidersofthelostSTAR): If I were single, I'd probably be dating around now for just that reason. That was always part of my rational when explaining to people why I gave all potential paramours 3 chances.
