Well the guy who owns the decor shop by my house has his little dog in a sweater every day, which he probably needs when he's outside, but the guy never takes it off him, so he sits in the store panting away, over-heated, all day. The guy comes in, takes all his winter gear off and leaves his dog in his sweater, inside all day. This is bad for the dog. He is uncomfortable and may get sick.
I would say, that people who are too obsessed with accessorizing their dogs often don't know what the fuck they're doing and it can cause harm.
The reality is that most dogs would rather eat shit out of a litter box (also not so healthy) than wear Dior. Also, they need attention, exercise, healthy food and regular vet visits, not Louboutins… Ugh.
There are a few things on this earth that don't make sense to me. People dressing their dogs (besides practicality...Doggie McSwimmingly has a very practical sweater and booties to protect his paws from the elements in the winter) really frightens me. Like, sometimes I dream about it.
This is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. How about they go after illegal breeders first, and then they can worry about the people that like the put their jack Russel in a tutu. For Maude's sake.
When China has taken the United State's place as a world superpower and we, like Britain, are a part of an empire whose sun is set, I really hope that we're all dressing our dogs in elaborate costumes rather than working in Chinese factories.
Is that dog stuffed? I have never met a dog who would go along with that shit. I once tried to put a sweater on a dog before walking him in the snow and I damn near lost an eye.
@mrsryan: @asterix: I have a nearly hairless dog... she would freeze in the winter if I took her out without a coat or sweater. She helps me dress her (stick her head through the hole and lift her paws to go in the sleeves). I have met a few dogs that are resistant to dressing, but she knows it's part of the going out routine and is pro-going out.
And she doesn't wear pearls, tiaras, or lace... do people really do that in real life (and not just some photo shoot)????
@A-girl: Our toy fox terrier helps put his harness on the same way. It is hilarious!! He hates clothes, though, of any kind even his little rain coat!
All the dogs are pro-going out but he's the only one to actively cooperate in getting "dressed" to do so. The other two stop running around like maniacs and sit just long enough for their collars.

The RSPCA is not really threatening legal action against people who put hoodies on their dogs, ok?
