Does every woman in Orange County big boobs? Are you considered a pariah if you've got a A or B cup? This is coming from someone that has nothing against cosmetic enhancement surgery...but please, does every man crave huge breasts out there? I don't get it.
If I lived there, I'd not keep my B cups, just for spite!
this RHOC has officially made me retire from watching this show. in the beginning, there was a certain fascination with the ludicrous spending and self-obsessed image manipulation. now that we know more about their financial ignorance and manufactured viciousness, it just seems pathetic and sad. jeanna just seems exhausted and worn down and the other women obviously have little sympathy or compassion to offer. they've moved from being catty to repulsive.
...except for the fact that he's so desperate to stay on this show that he has now tried dating three of the housewives (one of them twice...). Slade's a pathetic, gross man-child. There are few things less attractive than a man imitating someone in that little kid mocking voice. Shudder.
Is it just me or are Jeana's kids the one set of kids on the RHW shows that seem even remotely to have their shit together?
Shane is a professional (although minor-league) baseball player. Cara actually works to pay for her own clothes. AND she can even calculate how much tips she can earn to buy the things she wants!
Vicky's kids are obnoxious and don't even get me started on Lynn's kids!
edited to add: Vicky's SON is obnoxious, her daughter is not.
@jairip: Shane threatened to kill his mother with a bat last season. Vicki's daughter Brianna is a nurse (with a masters I believe) who works long ER shifts and is pretty unconcerned with her appearance (unlike Cara and her fake boobs)
@jairip: Jeana pays for Shane's Escalade payment 6 months of the year because he only his baseball season is only six months. Shane needs to get a different car and a 2nd job if he can't afford the payments himself!
@WashingMyHair: Shane is vile. Kara is ok, but last season she went on and on about hairy legged feminists at Berkley. Colton seems alright so far...But yeah, not exactly the sweetest group in the world.
@PaigeTurner: actually I've heard this expressed before by other people. the idea is that if you marriage is healthy, your kids are better off. obviously you shouldn't put your marriage ahead of them to their detriment, but having a good relationship between parents makes everything better. (for the record, i'm choldless, so i do not speak from experience)
The only man that seems to have any true redeeming value on this show is "empty love tank" Don. The rest are either controlling, slimy, ignorant or just plain mean. (I'm including the sons)
@jairip: Maybe I am giving her too much credit but perhaps her theory is that if the marriage is healthy and happy, then her kids (with the proper amount of parenting) will be happy and healthy? I think MANY husbands and wives put all their energy into the children and forget about what got them there in the first place. And then, once the kids are up and out, they look at their spouse and realize they don't know them anymore and have nothing in commen. I do not think children should always come first.
Sophie needs to study...damn promoted this comment

@jairip: Yeah, that was what got to me. You would choose both God (whatever choosing God means) and your marriage over your kids? They're going to feel great when they see that clip someday.
@BuffySummers: @cherry_blossom: Wow, I really showed my insensitivity to the beliefs of others. I think I'll go read up on their dogma so this doesn't happen again. Anyone have the latest issue of 'OK!'?
@BuffySummers: My sister and I used to ask our mom who she loved best, and she always answered "your dad." We were not scarred by this or damaged in any way. I think it will depend a lot on how this woman's self-professed "priorities" manifest themselves in her day-to-day family life.
@sequined: Agreed. Again, I was more creeped out by the God priority (but to each his/her own) and the ranking of priorities in general than the marriage vs. kids issue. But yes, you're right!
@bluebears: SERIOUSLY. The "you can tell I'm scruffy because I have a beard and I'm not wearing a shirt" look is totally undermined by the excessive chest-waxing and hair-gelling.

With his slicked back hair and white pajama pants, Slade kind of reminds me of Hannibal Lecter.

They only pay her $100,000 for the whole season which is a third of what she makes from selling a single mansion.
I was impressed by her description of short sales and liquidations on Dr. Phil. She knows her stuff.

Marriage second
Kids third"
I'm not married (yet), and I don't have kids (yet), but does that sound like a seriously wonky set of priorities to anyone else?
11/20/09
Seriously though, if two married people are not prepared to put their kids first, then don't have them.
