Good riddance, Jay Leno - the most unfunny, kiss-ass, frat boy comedian in the world. Too bad he's not really going anywhere, and his ego is ruining Conan's moment to shine. I am so excited that I will actually be able to watch Conan before I go to sleep now! BE COOL MY BABIES!!!
@HistoricUpstart: Conan is a funny, funny man. Whereas Jay Leno is your dad's creepy friend who tells sexist jokes that aren't funny and make people uncomfortable.
@Breamworthy: More like Dad's creepy co-worker that he tries to avoid like the plague in the staff lunchroom-- especially on take your daughter to work day.
I enjoyed Leno's last show. I honestly don't understand the hatred towards him on this site. That goes for Gwyneth Paltrow & Ann Curry too. Go fig.
Ok, now this isn't mentioned above, but since it's the dirt bag I wanted to make sure everyone knew - ABC will start airing the final three episodes of Pushing Daisies starting tonight at 9PM CST! :)
@victoriasauce: My problem with Jay Leno: he tries to come across as an "aww shucks" nice guy next door, when most of his comedy is really at the expense of other people. "Jaywalking" is the most glaring example. He rounds up the dumbest, least-informed people he can find to set them up for humiliation on national tv. He's not laughing with them, he's laughing at them.
Also-- I'm mystified as to why his "last show" is such a big deal with special tributes, guests, etc. He's not retiring. He's getting a similarly-formatted show in an earlier time slot.
Nadya Suleiman meet Kate Gosselin. But seriously what's the deal with shows about multiples. I don't get why people love Jon and Kate/watch that show as a form of entertainment. Birth control maybe..but entertainment? Yeah the kids are cute but I was exhausted after watching a couple of episodes. Also felt the need to make myself a stiff drink and run screaming to my ob gyn for a hysterectomy. That's a normal reaction to these shows, right?
@Sookie Stackhouse: As a parent, I don't understand how anyone with children CAN watch a show like that.
I tried watching Supernanny once and it drove me insane. The last thing in the world I want to "relax" with (after putting my own kids to bed) are MORE screaming kids.
@victoriasauce: I'm guessing the appeal for non-parents is the opportunity to gloat about being child-free. The appeal for parents is to feel that, no matter how bad your day has been and how many time-outs you had to call on your kids, someone else has it harder. Supernanny is definitely about feeling superior to clueless, indulgent parents who let their kids run roughshod over them.
@smellykelly: Don't really think Lily has copied Madonna's style though. Mind you Madonna has had so many changes of images it is inevitable that sooner or later a younger singer would be accused of stealing from her.
I agree that this is a horrible thing to happen to anyone, and I have utmost sympathy for Tyson and his family. To lose a four-year-old? Just horrible.
I confess though that every time I read one of these "Mike's sad life" and "What else can happen to him?" quotes, I'm confused. What am I missing here? The only thing I know about Tyson is he is a rapist who went to jail for his crime and that he bit off someone's ear in a fight.
@MaxAgron: His childhood was supposedly very hard and very poor. He does not seem to be a super bright guy, and reports of his boxing career make it sound like he was manipulated and mismanaged throughout. I know he lost a ton of $$ to bad management. And he has seemed to have real mental issues for quite a while now. Mentally well people just don't bite off pieces of opponents' ears, right? But agreed, most of his recent misfortune (excluding his daughter's accident, of course) has all been on him.
Really, is it super duper fun to play a character suffering from crippling depression? I'm so happy for you. POOR CASTING CHOICES MAKE BAD MOVIES, people.
@kelsium: Doreen isn't the main character-- she's one of the girls Esther meets during her summer magazine internship that sort of starts her depression. Those party scenes might actually be fun to play (again, if you're not playing Esther).
@kelsium: Yes, I agree that she'd be a terrible choice to play Esther. But fear not, they'll probably cast Jessica Alba as Esther or something equally horrible, so you'll be able to be outraged again. :)
@mysterygirl: Aha, that answers a question I asked upthread. Should've read you first. Rose McGowan is not "starring" in anything, then, unless the adaptation's a radical departure.
Can you sue something for something that happened 2 years ago? Shouldn´t he have thought of that earlier? I´m not up to speed on american laws but isn´t there some kind of deadline for sueing?
@EvilVaginaTroll: I don't know CA's law, but I'm pretty sure he's within the statute of limitations. Those rules set how long you have to sue, but it's probably somewhere between 2 and 3 years for a personal injury action.
@victoriasauce: I think some parents like J&K because it makes their lives look calm in comparison. Plus, although there are a lot of them, they are pretty good kids. Stuff like Supernanny, though, I don't get. Screaming children make tense.
@victoriasauce: So excited for new Pushing Daisies, even though I'm still upset about its cancellation.
@Speeble: She was so nervous she started to cry halfway through Edelweiss, begged to do it again, which the producers refused, and then she really lost it. Until Simon Cowell stepped in and let her do it again.
I don't know how to embed a link, maybe this will work:
@BlondeGoddess: That poor little girl! She's got an off-the-charts stage mother-- the mom was asking the judges for a redo while her daughter was still crying and shaking. How about prioritizing the child's emotional well-being?

I must have a twisted sense of humor - because I don't find most comedians funny.
I do, however, adore Craig Ferguson.

1) he's not funny (to me)
2) he's stuck in the 1990's and keeps telling jokes about things that happened 15 years ago
3) he makes stupid prejudiced comments without thinking (like that thing where he asked Ryan Phillipe to give his "gayest look")
