@No Day Like Friday: That shocked me, too. Fortunately it sounds like he played it off with a non-sequitor answer. MK shows that his clothes are then only think he keeps classy.

@SevenNationArmy hates David Yates: The Hollister store is at the corner of Broadway and Houston - there are stores everywhere. I'm not sure why this one in particular is raising so much ire.
I own one precious Oscar pantsuit that I'm going to have copied if I ever get to Hong Kong because it fits like a dream. So I'm not going to hate on him -- I just wish he'd say it a little differently.
From his perspective, FLOTUS has always been dressed by Seventh Avenue and he would like that tradition to continue, since these are big businesses that employ a lot of people both in NYC and overseas. I totally support Mrs. O. wearing the young designers, but I hope she can share a little love with the big names, too.
@brendastarlet is on it: I agree. I don't think it is super-dickish at all. She should definitely incorporate some of the larger American designers, even as I appreciate her going to lesser-knowns. And I agree the cardigan to meet the Queen was fug. It could have been ok in another occasion, but the whole outfit was inappropriate, it looked like something made for an American Girl doll.
@LaFemme: she didn't wear the argyles to meet the Queen -- she had on a black cardigan over the white and black Isabel Toledo dress. The argyles were for the Sarah Brown morning event.
But seriously, if she can wear Alaia and Commes de Garcons to honor the French, which I have no problem with, she can wear Oscar and Donna and Carolina, too.
1) Paco Rabanne used to be spelled "Robanne". 2) Louboutin used to be spelled "Laboutin".
I remember both of these from all the fashun mags I read in the 90s. I swear I'm not making it up/ mistaken due to my addled brain. Someone please holler and let me know that I'm right.
Good for Christian. I'm so freaking tired of commercials telling me how poor I am/everyone is in order to SELL ME THINGS. I'll never buy those pumps, but at least he's not feeding me fake sympathy with the price tag.

What other kind of person could be asked that question and not feel totally violated?
(Also: what if he doesn't have anal sex?)
Can you imagine Vanity Fair asking, say, DVF whether she liked regular or reverse cowgirl?
Or is gay sex so wound up in identity politics as to make this an integral factor of any real interview of a gay man?

*blip* went my 24-hour portable cardiac monitor! I'm gonna have to write this down to explain to the doc tomorrow:
1. Looked at hideous python shoes with a 3k pricetag
2. Found out Stila was going under

I agree she should wear international designers, but yeah, who doesn't like Carolina?
