I never thought Miley and I would be so much alike, but my first thought if asked about moving in with my supermodel boyfriend would also be to wonder if he were capable of putting things where they belong and keeping them orderly. And even if he were 50 years older than I, he still might not be. Who knew she was responsible for cleaning up after herself?
Katy Perry: I have a pretty dirty mind, but images of you peeling yourself out of a banana aren't conjuring up reactions of, "That's what she said!" and snickering from me (and just about everything does).
Really, I'm just grimacing, associating you with the Chiquita banana lady, and shaking my head, very, very slowly. The chiquita banana lady deserves so much more.
P. Diddy's appearance on Ellen yesterday was really frustrating. He got defensive and kept repeating how he wouldn't pass judgment, but I got the distinct impression that he meant he was on Chris Brown's side. He looked very agitated and Ellen kind of had to back off.
@precipice: It may be frustrating, but I am tired of black male celebrities being put on the spot about this. If the media were to start asking all celebrities, maybe it wouldn't irritate me so much. But only black men? No matter how they answer, they can't win. I wish we could only discuss what actually happened, and not a bunch of innocent people's reactions to what happened. I believe it unfairly vilifies people not involved. Though it did strike me as enabling that Diddy lent them his house. I don't know that his opinion is relevant or adds anything to the story.
@encnyc: Diddy offered them his house for a vacation. Kanye toured with her. I think they're asking them because they know them, not because they're black.
So George Clooney was last seen getting drunk and stumbling back to his hotel. What is it with all these men that they simply cannot handle me rejecting them.
New York, LA, London, I can see it, but St. Louis? I bet that would be a shocking sight; a stumbling drunk Clooney in St. Louis. I wish I could bump into that situation. I would make sure he got home, specifically to my home, safe and sound.
@encnyc: Ah, but what better place than St. Louis? No paparazzi, no one really believing that George Clooney would really be there? It's a great place for a celebrity to get sloppy drunk.
My only link to international fame is that my friend lives in a house close to Geri Halliwell's and once the paps were hanging out in my friend's garden trying to snap her as the house numbers are somewhat confusing. As to Geri Halliwell's broken engagement, this was the woman who was forver letting the paps know she was having a torrid affair with George Michael, in the days before he had come proudly out of the closet and when she was still trying to flog her solo efforts.
Ok but how is that ok to remake Nightmare on Elm Street and not even consult Wes Craven? That's just not right. Plus, that's a horror movie that stands the test of time. It's scary cause it's frickin' creepy, not becasue of visual effects. Most new scary movies (for all their technology) don't scare me at all.
@shananigans aka cookie pants!: gah! I cannot stand the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Having a protagonist named Nancy constantly being chased or damn near butchered led to a few years of nightmares for me.
A tip of the hat to you, Wes Craven. To this day I cannot watch those films without freaking out.
@heykoukla: I had spent approximately a week's wages to attend a function to hear her speak, approached her at an appropriate moment, then timidly said "Ms. Bacall, I don't mean to bother you ...", to which she retorted "Well, DON'T then!" before imperiously sweeping past me. Which sounds all rather grand in retrospect but I was in tears. (That said, I was younger than anyone there by about half a century and she had just bitched in her address about "the younger generation" AND it was just after that panel at Cannes where she objected to Nicole Kidman being deemed a legend, so maybe it was all just down to unfortunate timing!)
@tiny_danza: Oh no, I would have died. I don't know why we're so surprised, really - when we admire sassy, outspoken people like Lauren Bacall, I guess we always assume that, although they bitch about others, they'll like us if only they could meet us.
I'm tired of the stories about Sam Lilo fighting. It also doesn't help that Lilo looks fucking tweaked in that paparazzi video. Ug, this probably isn't going to end well for either of them.
That's it. I. Can't. Take. This. Anymore. Let's put all of the celebrities who have said of Chris Brown, he just made a mistake, I'm not taking sides, we don't know what happened, Chris is a great guy, crazy things happen in relationships, etc. on a deserted island and use said island for nuclear testing. I'm done.
@Sputnik_Sweetheart: I so agree! Because the photos were leaked, we ALL saw her face. Who did that? Somebody did that and even Brown's camp isn't trying to say it was "some other guy" or anything. This isn't a big mystery - so what benefit of the doubt is there? No matter WHAT somebody says or does, beating them like that is WRONG. So ... there's just no wiggle room here and it's making me sick that people act like there is! ARGGH. Come on, world! REALLY!
