    I entertain in nothing but pajama pants and whatever top I feel like wearing.

    Seriously, it's become a joke amongst friends. You come to my house, I will not wear pants. I will wear pajamas, and you will be okay with it or you won't get invited back. You can also wear pajamas; I won't get offended :D

    I highly recommend this course of action for more cozy and comfortable entertaining.

    Holiday in Chile? Where's the landscape? Where's the Andes? Why didn't they save a few thousand dollars and shoot this on a soundstage in California, or better yet, in front of a blue screen, because there's nothing Chilean about this photoshoot.

    @pichou: They actually had a little blurb about how they had to shoot in Chile because they had to do the shoot in the summer and there was nowhere snowy in the U.S. They only took one model though, so the first 15 pages of the catalogue were of her and she was kinda blah.

    This catalogue was awesome. I am a total J.Crew convert, but some of the prices are too much for me right now!

    Damn, I lust for one of those tailored, ladylike coats. Coats are one of the most difficult for those of us of the short and fat persuasion to buy. The one wiht the wide collar and sash is just perfect.

    @Bitingpika: I've got an Italian Doublecloth J. Crew coat from a few seasons back, and I must say, SO worth the investment! The lining has suffered some wear and tear, obviously, but the rest of it is still in beautiful condition. On top of that it is ridiculously comfy, warm, and flattering. I live in it.

    @CollegeCamel: I'm sure it's lovely, but they just don't make anything my size. I've found precisively one online store that does make coats in plus petites (how's that for an awkward construction?), and they're cheaply made and boxy. But hey, fat people don't deserve nice things anyway.

    Oh hai, money-sucking bastard catalog! (This same one is sitting on my coffee table at home right now. Even two miles away, I can hear it laughing at me and whispering my name.) Anyway, Dodai- WHY NO MENTION OF THE SHOE-OF-THE-MONTH CLUB????? I saw that and my head cracked open with explosive and unbridled lust. Oh and the sneakers-the canvas Jack Purcells? I bought them in white about a month ago. I adore them, and for $65, I am a happy customer.

    Here are some issues I have with J. Crew:

    1. Almost everything is made in China, but the prices are not reflective of that.

    2. Their "business shirts" and blazers are never cut to fit. If I'm going to spend $250 on a velvet blazer, or $80 on a shirt, they need to be tailored on the waist, not hang on you like a sack on a scarecrow.

    3. "Dry-clean only" tags on any and all cashmere goods. Dry-cleaning ruins cashmere. You need to wash it by hand, with hair shampoo (never detergent!). Unless we're talking a cashmere coat, in which case--yes, dry cleaning.

    4. Shoes run larger than they're supposed to, according to their sizes. Everything runs larger than it's supposed to. I ALWAYS have this problem with Marc by Marc Jacobs, too.

    5. Sparkly "Dorothy" shoes in pic #5 are such a blatant rip-off of Miu Miu shoes from Fall '08 that I'm blushing in embarrassement. J. Crew is like Forever 21 for richer people!

    6. The tailoring on their dress pants is relentlessly unflattering. You do NOT stick front pockets on an all-wool gabardine dress pant, period. They are useless, and will inevitably gap, no matter how fit you are, and make you look phat.

    I can go on.. That being said, I got a pair of woolen fingerless gloves from the discount bin once, and they were quite cute.

    I love that piped "Professor" blazer on #5. That's mostly because I would wear it and pretend I was Number Six on The Prisoner, though.
