    @salthegeek: He still eats cookies, but after he lost his left foot to the 'betis, he realized he had to cut back on the sweets a little. Cookies are a "sometimes food" now. #sesamestreet

    Big Bird was always my favorite. I know he's a big, kind-hearted yellow bird, but there was always that palpable sense of melancholy and weariness. Even as a wee one, I could totally relate.

    Also, I was a kid back when Snuffleupagus was still visible only to Big Bird, and I thought the reactions of the neighborhood to his imaginary friend were really shitty, to be honest. And then in the 1980s, the producers making Snuffleupagus "real" just so the rest of Sesame Street would stop harassing Big Bird and calling him a liar? I mean, WTF, people. Sometimes I think Big Bird was too good for that damn street. #sesamestreet

    I had a media teacher in H.S. who used to work on Sesame Street. Supposedly sometime in the late 80's early 90's they were going to have Big Bird die. There was no way they could do it without deeply harming kids so they decided they couldn't do it. #sesamestreet
