<![CDATA[The Show Must Go On At Playbill Gala]]> Playbill's 125th Anniversary was celebrated at New York's Bon Appetit Supper Club and Cafe, which sounds charming. Less charming: the sort of odd range of duds one only gets at a legitimate theatre event!

What would a theatre event be without Bernadette Peters?! And in what can only be called a very...theatrical level of glitz!

But see, when the lights go down, that dress comes to life!

John Stamos has really grown into a man who wears a suit with confidence.

Not-that-fun fact: Anna Chlumsky went to my college. I didn't know her. Once we rode in the drunk van together, so-called. And that doesn't stop me saying that while I dig her dress, I don't think the proportions work with these shoes, and the bag is too bad. I am an objective journalist, you see.

Allie Trimm's dress does her name proud: it seems constructed of stick-on bows in some horrible 'Project Runway' stationery store challenge. (In which case, I should hope it would win.)

Cheyenne Jackson looks remarkably pleased with himself - although I suppose you need that kind of arrogance to work a shiny shirt in this day and age.

Gina Gershon should tread lightly: if she doesn't watch it, she risks falling into the "I'M SEXXXY 24/7" Lisa Rinna trap.

<![CDATA[At The FIFI Awards, The Fashion Only Sorta Stunk]]> Last night in New York City at the FIFI Awards — the "Oscars" of the fragrance industry — designer Vera Wang helped to honor some of the most creatively-pungent people, or rather, the industry and its achievements in fragrance creation. Whatever: regardless of the reason for the occasion, celebs like Taylor Momsen, Padma Lakshmi and Salt N' Pepa showed up wearing both stylish and strange outfits. (Wang in particular, looked like a hangover.) The full Good, Bad, and Ugly of the FIFIs, after the jump.

The Good
I'm not gay, but I would be for Padma Lakshmi. I love her black shoes with the little roses. Usually when I see black and yellow together I think "bumblebee," but this time it never occurred to me. I was too busy being in love.
More black and yellow, this time on Taylor Momsen with a lemony chiffon number that may or may not be Zac Posen.
A+ Bernadette Peters! What a color! What a face! How old are you? You haven't aged since you played Lily St. James in Annie.

The Bad
Aw, come on. Don't make me make fun of Salt N' Pepa. I can't! I won't do it! Salt looks good but Pepa...I'm not really digging on her Vide-ho look.
I reallyI just don't care for this army green number on Vera Wang. The dress isn't the worse thing but the color looks like a booger. A soldier's booger. A soldier's booger in a potato sack race.

The Ugly

I really wanted to like this dress but I can't get beyond the fact that Minka Kelly looks like a baby shower gift.
Now this is a perfect example of what happens when you hire a bad stylist. For some reason I doubt that Aubrey O'Day put this Judy Jetson look together, but I guess at the end of the day it doesn't really matter if you're the one who's wearing it.

<![CDATA[Helen Hunt Finds Birth Mother, Pretty Dress At Film Premiere]]> Helen Hunt: She's not just Jaime Buchman, she's a very serious director. Hunt's latest fare is the adoption drama Then She Found Me which, a la Streisand, she doesn't just direct, but stars in as well. Last night's New York premiere featured the film's cast (Bette Midler, Salman Rushdie, Matthew Broderick) and their supporters, including Gloria Steinem, Heather Matarazzo, Bernadette Peters, Ricki Lake, Mamie Gummer and Jerry & Jessica Seinfeld. Random yes, but it made for some interesting fashion! As always, the full Good, Bad & Ugly after the jump.

The Good:
foundmebettemidler42108.jpgThey don't call her The Divine Miss M for nothing.

foundmecolinfirth42108.jpgNom nom Colin Firth and the pretty lady on his arm.

foundmeheathermatarazzo42108.jpgGood for Heather Matarazzo and her girlfriend for keeping it simple.

foundmekellybensimon42108.jpgWords I never thought I would say: Kelly Killoren Bensimon looks fresh, sophisticated, and classic in her exaggerated shirting dress. This is by far one of the best looks of the night: So effortless.

foundmeoliviapalmero42108.jpgAlso, I love Olivia Palmero taking boho chic (a heinous phrase, I know) to the max.

foundmemamiegummer42108.jpgI have no idea if daughter-of-Meryl Mamie Gummer can act, but I totally love how she dresses. In short black she remains cute and sweet.

foundmenajimysteinem42108.jpgSure both Kathy Najimy and Gloria Steinem have been sporting the same look, respectively, for like the past 15 years now — but I wouldn't mind aging like Steinem and stealing her outfit when I do.

foundmesjp42108.jpgJesus, even Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick turned up looking kicky last night.

Go for the gold, Helen Hunt.

The Bad:
foundmebernadettepeters42108.jpgBernadette Peters is inching dangerously close to pathetic old cat lady in this outfit.

foundmelynncohen421008.jpgAw, it's Magda (aka Lynn Cohen)! Only, she looks like she stepped out of a time machine that just returned from 1988.

foundmerickilake42108.jpgNo Ricki, no Ricki, no!

foundmeseinfelds42108.jpgEw: It's Jessica Seinfeld. (Oh and also that rich famous dude she married.)

The Ugly:
foundmeirinapantaeva42108.jpgAnd today Irina Pantaeva shows up dressed like a ladybug.
