Who is Megan Fox? Her name gets mentioned a lot but I have no idea who she is. She's not on Gossip Girl, or The Hills or whatever other show about vapid white folks with too much money and too little sense, is she?
Jason Lewis calling SJP a "neat lady" reminds me of my best friend in college. This guy told her he respected her because she was a "clean lady", as in disease free.
Does anyone actually give a sh*t about these Jon and Kate people? I admittedly have no idea who they are since I've never seen their show (they do have a reality TV show about them and all their rugrats, right?). Honestly, what's the draw here? Aren't they just a boring extra-large-minivan-driving suburban family? Am I missing something here?
@agent.wasabi: I had never heard of these people either, but a high school friend of mine has posted status updates and links pretty much exclusively about Jon and Kate since this "story" broke: "OMG Jon is such a jerk!" "OMG the media is going to rip the family apart!" "OMGWTF Kate and the bodyguard? so not true!"
@agent.wasabi: I'm with you. But cable and I got divorced last year. But really - i hate kids, why would i want to watch a show that focuses on them? I have to mute baby commercials. I can't take screaming.
I am so tired of celebrities using the word "prolific" to describe fellow performers. I understand that it is a relative term - you may find someone prolific that I don't. But Sarah Jessica Parker does not fall into any sort of gray area on that one, IMHO.
I know it's not the fault of the person who said it - I'm sure it's hard to speak off the cuff to reporters and get every word right, every time. I just wish Hollywood - including the media out there - would stop using the word. Also: icon, idol, legend.
@shadesofmediocrity: But it can just mean you've made a lot of something. So it's kind of the ultimate backhanded compliment, bc you can mean, "Yeah she works all the time (on utter crap)."
You know, the story this morning about Eminem and the laid-off autoworkers made me respect him a teeny, tiny bit. Now, he's gone and ruined it. Thanks Em for reminding me every once and in a while why I hate you.
I'm going out on a limb here. But Megan Fox is speaking the truth. To win an Oscar a woman has to play ugly, but she must be beautiful first- Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Charlize Theron... They don't get parts if they aren't beautiful. Her faux pas was admitting it.
I remember once Jennifer Aniston said when she lost wait, she got more parts, and people jumped on her as though she endorsed that.
It is actually kind of refreshing to hear them be honest about it, imo.
Linda Fiorentino's ex-boyfriend, FBI agent Mark Rossini will be sentenced on Thursday. He is charged with illegally accessing confidential FBI information for a person described as Madame X, who turned out to be his girlfriend, Fiorentino.
Dude. Madame X? Getting some besotted patsy to do shady deeds and take the fall? That is some Bridget Gregory/Wendy Kroy, The Last Seduction-type shit right there. No wonder Fiorentino was so good in that part.
Am I the only one kind of appalled at the queen for sending the same card five years in a row? What, does she just have hundreds of this same card? How bizarre.
@Dodgergirl: That's what I always associate him with. The dvd has an adorable making-of feature that shows him corralling all those boys-- whose pictures I had from Bop magazine, posted all over my bedroom walls.
@Dodgergirl: @mbot is a biracial butterfly: Yes! Newsies FTW! I had a major obsession with that movie when I was younger. I still grin like an idiot when I watch it/hear a song from it.
"Bob Baker and White are feuding over an elephant he wants relocated from the L.A. Zoo." WTF? Is this what crazy old rich people feud over? The address of an elephant?
@quickbird: I don't know the whole story, but Betty White has been a big animal welfare activist for decades now, so it didn't surprise me to hear she was involved.
@quickbird: The LA city council had a whole meeting devoted to the issue. It's all been kind of a big deal, which is funny because I know a lot of people who had no idea LA even had a zoo before all of this.
"You want people to talk about you, because once they stop talking about you, that's when you're really in trouble!"
Jada speaks the truth as much as celebs complain that they hate the paparazzi, attention and whatnot, there's also a part of them that needs the paps to further their celebrity/brand. It's nice that she's honest enough to admit it's a shitty game but she's not above playing it.
@andheartss haz it: yeah but for every cate blanchett, there are like 4 lindsay lohans. Yeah the established actors/big stars have a greater ability to side step the game but what about the upcomers/so so actresses. They need publicity too hence the paps.
People failing to gossip about you doesn't mean you're in trouble. Tom Hanks and Jodi Foster don't get much gossip rag press but they still manage to bring in the dough. If you're actually talented, you don't need the press. You don't need the press.

Cate Blanchett
Tom Hanks
Julianne Moore
Denzel Washington
...plus loads of other established actors that will probably never have trouble finding work.
