@SevenNationArmy hates summer: I'll disagree here. There are several Banksy's in New Orleans, all relevant. Two were done on a friend's property, with permission, and are outstanding. Both have increased his property values by 30%.
The works did have to be covered w/ plexiglass because one was vandalized.
All art is subjective, but I know graffitti when I see it.
@SevenNationArmy hates summer: Really? I can see not caring what happens to random tags (although I think they are quite beautiful in their own way) but Banksy's been in galleries and shit. I think he's very creative and certainly worthy of the moniker "artist".
Graffiti gets a bad rap (even though, IMO, it doesn't deserve it), but Banksy is barely a graffiti artist, more of a muralist.
"Researchers report that women with anorexia have lower levels of a brain protein called BDNF, which is associated with poor self-image, anxiety, and depression"
I wonder which one leads to the other? Or is this a chicken and egg sort of thing?
I knew there was NO WAY the girl had fallen asleep and awaken to find the tattoo artist had gotten carried away. I only have 1 tattoo and I couldn't have fallen asleep to save my life while it was happening. I was having to concentrate to hard on not crying.
@A_Gracious_Plenty: No kidding. When I was getting my huge tramp stamp done, I asked my husband every 2 minutes whether they were almost finished. "No sweetie, he hasn't even completed the outline yet..."
@A_Gracious_Plenty: I fell asleep, during part of my back piece (2 sessions for a total of 12 hours for the piece), but I have a high pain threshold, have had other work done before and knew what to expect, and the upper back isn't like the face, full of nerve endings. But it is possible to fall asleep while getting a tattoo, although where the tattoo is being applied is key.
@A_Gracious_Plenty: I have a super-small tattoo behind my ear, and I swear my whole brain was vibrating for the 20 seconds it took to tattoo that thing on. I have a lot of tattoos, and getting it done was definitely the most uncomfortable process of all of them.
I wonder what will come to light when they release the Dubya tapes? Probably just muffled noises of Alvin, Simon and Theodore singing over the clack of an air hockey table.
Bear Grylls normally does my nut as he stays in hotels etc etc, but bless that kid for getting some inspiration from it! I just hope he didn't eat insects that 'taste like mud' too.
P.S I KNEW that girl wanted those stars on her face! Vindication!
My magazine writing prof has actually created a nice niche for himself recently; he writes about wine, beer, and wine and beer. He even gets a bit on CBC radio once a month!

Wheel of morality lesson learned? Always be 1000% positive that you actually want that tattoo, and that you want it in that location.
