    1) That reporter is a fine one to bitch. His article is as long as the book.


    2) Who is responsible for that rendering of the White Whale in the photo? Norman Rockwell?

    I would love to have the same feelings for one single book or one single thing so that I would attend something like this. I once coveted Moby Dick in a particular edition because the binding was so beautiful. But when I got it in a different edition, I never got past the part where Ishmael and Quee Queeg meet.

    One of my friends is an English teacher. One of her students recently asked, "Did Moby Dick write any other books?" True story. I'm pretty sure that kid did not attend this event.
