I mentioned MM once in a Tweet, and all the fake Mad Men people started following me. Some of them are funny, but some of them are over the top.
I do like the NY Times and NPR Tweets, because I miss a lot of stories otherwise, and I have JetBlue and Southwest Tweets which sometimes give weather delay alerts.
I like tweeting. I just started recently, and saw no point in it whatsoever until a forum I post on went down for a month and we all went on twitter to keep in touch. And now I'm addicted, because often my witty snark, such as, is only funny when in one-liner form anyway, and I don't want to bother logging into my blog to do it.
@Viva La Diva: I did too. I have all the Mad Men characters following me and vice versa lol. My ex and I were wondering who has the time, so now we know.
@rollergirl76: I think the other characters are done by other folks, rather than Paul Isakson. But it cracks me up how their Tweets are totally reflective of the characters' lives.
@peperony and chease: I don't know, I thought it was pretty clever actually. They keep the tone of the character and reference the show. You can tell these are intelligent people behind the fake profiles. It's not as bad as a fake Facebook profile. It's kind of funny. They're just fans of the show having fun.
@Archetype: It's a way to network with people, promote a site, yourself, or just reach out to friends. You can type little texts to all the people who "follow" you, reply to other people's, or insert links to websites.
@Archetype: I feel you! I was pressured into this, MySpace and Facebook but just find all of it so time-sucking and dull! Want me to know about your vacation or see the photos? Fine, post it and/or send me an email but there are very few people whose every damn fleeting thought would be of interest.
@sybann: I like Facebook because it has kept me in touch with so many old friends. And I actually enjoy seeing vacation and family pix. But I don't befriend professional contacts, because I don't want to hear a client remark, "what a cute bathing suit!"

AMC has to be kicking themselves that they didn't think of it.

@ken_cosgrove Football. Of course. Any sport with matching uniforms works for me. Maybe we could all go. @PeggyOlson & I are a good team.
@ken_cosgrove The imagery in your story is so evocative, the characters so finely drawn, I felt I was living the story. The joy. The pain...
