Am I the only one on here that actually read the books, enjoyed them, and saw the midnight showing of the movie and loved it?

Honestly, people criticize Twilight but how many of you like Anchorman, or Tropic Thunder, or anything? A movie doesn't have to be Hotel Rwanda to be worth seeing.

/end hurt puppy rant. I am in love with Twilight so I tend to take it all a little too personally.

@mrsdracomalfoy: Oh, I like some pretty stupid, not deep movies. I love Grandma's Boy. I just don't think I will watch this movie. It's just kind of "eh" to me. Maybe when it's on Netflix... Odd that it doesn't jump out at me. I love vampire stuff.

The only movie I stood in line for to see on the first day was one of the new Star Wars movies...

Okay. Really. I can't believe it's coming to this - but I feel like I have to defend the legions of 14 year old NERDY girls who love Twilight because they can pretend like they are Bella Swan ... about to be kissed by a cute guy (who yes, is a vampire). Seriously. I was this same girl 10 year ago. Awkward, unsure and really darn hopeful that some day my prince would come. I was at the midnight showing last night - and I'm pretty sure that most of the girls there sit at the Heavy Metal table in the lunch room. A girl can dare to dream, right? Isn't that what it's all about? They'll get their braces off in a few years and go to college and read Jezebel for fun. Why make fun of them now?

Uggh, it made me sick when he called this the successor the the Harry Potter series. Harry Potter is literature. Just because these books feature fictional beings such as vampires do not mean they have anything in common with Harry Potter, other than one actor. I know Cedric's dead, and he had to look for a new gig, and this job paid. But please, I don't want the memory of Cedric tainted by seeing his face in Twilight. There's no way this woman is spending money on this crap.

@LadyFabulous: I prefer Season 2 for individual high points and Season 3 for overal consistent goodness. Season 4, they struggled with the college thing.

Or you could just watch my all time favourite episode besides the musical, Fool for Love, 5x09 or 5x10 I believe.

(I haven't watching Buffy in a few years but was hardcore at a difficult time in my life.)

@LadyFabulous: I just started watching Buffy maybe a month or two ago. I just finished season 4 and season 1 of Angel. I'm also trying to catch up on Mad Men, so it may take me a few more months to get through the series. But I was surprised how much I liked Buffy and Angel - I had zero interest in them when I was in high school, when it was new, but it's an incredibly smart show. I don't get the craziness over Twilight, though.

@TheUptightMidwesterner: I also admit that I rant more than others, because I am so frustrated by the books. The idea and the premise is an excellent idea (albeit riipped off by Buffy,) but they are so poorly written.
However..I may add I work 2 jobs and Meyers is rolling demurely dressed in her piles of cash- so I know nothing .

Okay, I don't know how I missed all of this, but I seriously thought "Twilight" was an upcoming HBO series and I had no idea it was based on a book. However, I feel like I am better off in my own little world of consuming real news and reading intellectual property law theory....
