Bournemouth, England's George Moyse, 97, set out to raise money for the Royal National Life-Boat Institution by participating in a tandem jump with his 43 year-old grandson. The two successfully jumped 10,000 feet together.

"It was lovely," Moyse says, " I really enjoyed it, I wasn't frightened at all. It was the first time but it won't be the last. I do not sit around. I get about, I go for a walk every day and I do my own cooking, washing, ironing, everything. I have just been lucky to be so agile." [UPI]

A new study has found that circulation-blocked mice, when injected with cells obtained from menstrual blood (called endometrial regenerative cells) their circulation and functionality were restored. This means that people suffering from critical limb ischemia, as advanced form of peripheal artery disease that causes 150,000 amputations a year, may be able to be treated with ERCs. The cells are good because they don't requite matching, complex equipment, can be delivered to the point of care, and are capable of forming 9 different tissue types. [Science Daily]
