And IF they break them up again in the 2nd movie, yeah.... total fuckery.

Thank you.
I spent a lot of time wondering if her parents were helping her pay for the apartment or if a crazy cat lady aunt had left it to her along with a couple of closets of vintage.
I hated the movie...except for the clothes eyecandy.

I grew up in a shoes-off household, which I've carried into adulthood. However, when you are having guests over, you do NOT make them take off their shoes. That is rude. Her friend in that episode just pissed me off generally.

Holy cocaine, Batman! And holy everyone seeming a little sad yet angry yet defensive yet defeated yet superior.
I found the columns supremely depressing and the show entertaining and groundbreaking and slightly shallow shoe girl wet-dreamy. I don't see how the "authenticity" of the columns translated to the show at all. The show's success came from the quality of the writing and acting, not from the columnns.

@AlmostDream: There's a collection of them, which came out a couple of years before the series started. You can probably can find it cheaply on amazon.

Well, I can't speak to the authenticity of the characters per Candace Bushanell's original column, but I do seriously think the authenticity- what little of it there was- of the TV characters was horribly destroyed in the movie. The movie was so obviously slapped together as fast as everyone would agree to the schedule and in doing so they made every character a shallow reflection of what the TV writers had developed over several years.

I'm very curious what the sequel could possible be about.

Now, is her authentic representation of that life essentially voyeurism of rich, privileged people? Yeah.
