    The only way I would EVER agree to marriage in the first place is if hubby and I could have separate residences!


    Me with the feline kids in one home and him with the canine kids in another!


    I've always wanted dogs but my cats have ruled my house for 9 years now and won't hear of it, so getting a husband who lives elsewhere will accomplish my ultimate goal of having dogs!


    Wrong reason to get married?

    I actually love Paris Hilton perfume. The original one. I've been wearing it for almost five years. I feel bad about it. I lie to people when they ask what I'm wearing. Or I tell them whilst hanging my head. But it smells amazing. The celebrity perfume trend is annoying, but if a perfume works for you, wear it! I just need to work on the guilt factor...

    Of course you probably mean that the US version of InStyle never features such amazing people. Alas, we wish.

    @unluckyone: I love their jeans, but my particular style and wash are not available on the US website at the moment so I am not holding my breath. The rest of their stuff I found to be kind of overpriced and too teenagery, honestly.

    @JulyMama: When we first moved in together we made the mistake of sharing a very small, cramped room. We were one of those couples who annoyingly think "We spend so much time together anyway, it's like we already live together!" WRONG.

    @lilbobbytables: Yeah, we definitely had a hard go of it. That was two years ago and things have been great since.

    I think more marriages would survive if people who needed or enjoy space felt they had permission to give it, and have some of their own.

    @NicoleItchy: You know I've actually had people imply my relationship wasn't serious because we do that? Someone told me him and I were "just having fun." It was infuriating, we've been together three and a half years. I have a sewing machine and a desk and he's an illustrator with a huge Mac, light table, etc. We need our own room!

    Plus I'm really quite messy and he is super neat. Plus I smoke and he doesn't. It.just.makes.sense.

    And hurrah on the Olay news front. My inner statistician weeps every time a beauty product advert claims "x% of women said this product made their skin look younger/hair look shinier/insert product claim here", and then they reveal that 50 women took part in the survey.

    RE: Scarlett Johannson and "old hollywood glamour." I am getting a little tired of this concept and the ensuing brocade gowns, red lips, false eyelashes, etc.


    Sometimes it just feels like Hollywood's saying, "Over here! Look at us! We can get into the recession too; even if it's not really personally affecting very many of our people! See? Perma-waved hair and twee hourglass figures! Wasn't 'Old Hollywood' fun?? I wish I had been around for the REAL Great Depression!"

    @GeorgeFayne: What I've seen of it seems really unflattering--baggy t-shirts, nothing structured looking--although, I admit, I've seen very little. If it looks bad on the model, it's probably going to look bad on just about everyone.

    @GeorgeFayne: i think it's AWFUL. there isn't a single thing i'd buy. there was one dress that was cute at first glance, but on closer inspection i discovered that it was printed with stupid little ed hardy rip-off tattoo motifs... you know, the kind that were super cool in l.a. two years ago? gag me.

    @GeorgeFayne: I was definitely NOT feeling it. I have liked other collections from GO before, but this one was definitely eh. Every single thing made me go, "I'd find something better-looking with better quality at the same price point at my local H&M." There was a trench coat that was kind of cute but it looked so cheap.
