    So, I wonder if Dr. Laura's suggestion that all women who bear a child and aren't in a heterosexual marriage should put their kid up for adoption holds true for ALL single moms? What does she say to the recent widow? To the woman who's husband leaves HER after 15 years? Should the kids go to the state then? And if adoption is the absolute best that kids with only one parent have, why is it so damn hard for willing and able two parent families to adopt? These harpies can spout all the crap they want... it won't change the REALITY that there are kids who need parents. Sometimes those kids get two, but others are raised by single parents. If there weren't our foster care system would be (more so than it already is) completely out of whack with no resources for ANY children.

    My mother would like to officially apologize for the death of my father when she had three young children at home. Clearly, if she had lived her life differently, he wouldn't have died, turning her into the society-destroying single mother that she was.


    And we wouldn't, in turn, be the society-destroying midwife, social activist, and writer/mother that we are today.
