Oh no she did NOT just say that about my state. Well, THIS house-like Minnesotan says fuck that noise. I'm off to eat some deliciously cheesy hotdish now!

1) Was anyone else surprised and delighted that Anna's office is exactly like Miranda Priestly's office?
2) What was up with Morley dissing John Galliano's fun, fashion forward suit while praising Arnault's kind of dowdy, traditional suit. Way to show your age.
3) I was way too happy to see that my mom, who is about 4 years older than Anna, looks ten times better than her without the fancy creams, botox and weighing about 70lbs more (granted, HD can be unkind). I will age well!

Basically her father was the editor of a paper in England and helped her out at the start. From thereon in it's a classic tale of hard work, backstabbing, and being really really single minded.

If we're going to police people's clothing based on beliefs, then is your shirt made out of mixed fibers?
*Especially when they throw paint at my friend's fake fur coat. If you're throwing paint around, make sure you're going to make it really count. I use natural hair paintbrushes when I paint, so it's hypocritical to be anti-fur anyhow.)

Then again, when has PETA worked on logic about anything?

Peta are mental.

To use that as a comeback as to why people balk at the use of photoshop and heavy editing in fashion magazines is ridiculous. I don't understand why someone obviously intelligent and articulate cannot wrap her mind around the idea that this is not about whether they look 'good' or not, but rather why good has to be so far divorced from reality and why it has to be something that is not realistically attainable.
Though she did not come from an unprivileged background her rise to prominence is fascinating, and her unauthorised biography, though scant on meaty details is amazing and worth a read.

THIS!!!! RIGHT HERE!!!!
also, why does it have to be attainable? for many people, trying to maintain the body of a 25 year old when you are 45 is impossible. does that make the 45 year old any less intelligent, articulate, important, powerful or serious because the 45 year old, through whatever circumstances be they self-imposed or not, doesn't look like a 25 year old?

LOLZ!!
Oh man, I cannot stop giggling. Also, isn't that a subplot of Gweneth Paltrow's character in The Royal Tenenbaums?

That being said, if Vogue feels Obesity is such an epidemic and we need proper diet and exercise lead the pack with healthy and/or real women on the covers and not some origami looking woman I can fit in my pocket. Having large breasts, I would like to see how some of these clothes fit a quadruple D sometime.

Maybe we should start a magazine like that. Don't tell me Galliano or McQueen would not love the idea. Designers look at us as canvases, so dammit, paint me and all my friends!

What bothers me (many things do) about Wintuor is her all or nothing mentality. Yes, many people could lose some weight. I am one of those. But I know how to "eat and exercise." The thing is, my job doesn't pay me to be thin. I get no bonuses for that. Which makes it a bit hard sometimes, ya know? Plus, I could lose 50 pounds and still not conform to your "ideal." Whatever that is.
Her complete disconnect from reality astonishes me.
