    The zookeepers said they have no choice, as the other animals had passed a ballot measure declaring marriage to be between one female polar bear and one male polar bear. The flamingos are really bigoted, I hear.

    It's a wonder that after all those attempts to get them to mate, that neither bear actually attempted it. I mean when my terrier saw my cousin's beagle humping dogs at the park, she sure as hell tried to do the same even though she lacked the necessary parts. You'd think that after all the attempts to get them to reproduce they'd just give up and say "fine, we'll be gay bears."

    @SmallbutMighty: When I was in 5th grade, my dad bought me a kitten who he was told was a neutered male. About a year later, kitty starts getting a little chubby so my dad becomes convinced that he's been eating elsewhere and develops eleborate plans to teach kitty eating elsewhere is bad.


    Then my boy kitty had kittens.


    So I kind of understand how rational people can just go along with "This is a boy polar bear." But then, no one in my family is a zoo keeper either.
