That said, rabbits creep me the hell out. I think they are evil. Seeing one killed doesn't bother me because I think rabbits want to kill us while we sleep by gnawing through our necks. But I love dogs and cats and sheep, and would hate to see them killed. I think the fur issue has many sides to it. I don't know who is right. It seems that the best compromise would be to regulate the treatment of the animals rather than ban it outright. But I am no expert, so...

And having said *that*, I will say *this*: When I was pregnant with my daughter, if my husband has so much as suggested this, I would have thrown him out. On his ass. My belly was a complete no-touch zone for some bizarre, hormonal reason. I wouldn't even let my mother get her hands on me. I would impatiently suffer my husband's hands on the rarest of "she's kicking!" occasions, and grit-my-teeth-patiently accept my then 3.5 year old son's. Because you can't throw out your toddler.
But WIRES? Are you mad?!

Yeah I was going to say that..there is a rant going that wearing old fur is worse because 1) you are still promoting fur as stylish 2) old fur was probably acquired under worse conditions and thus what you are wearing is even more cruel 3) you are just saying that to release your guilt about wearing fur...and I am kinda with sportz_star on this, then what are you suppose to do with it?
It seems even more hypocritical to me to donate it because 1) the majority of donated clothes then get sold for a profit, and I don't trust dropping it off at a homeless shelter that someone isn't going to be greedy and snatch (someone who is not homeless) and thus perpetuate the fur wearing cycle 2) It seems wasteful and well ungreen to just toss it out...I dunno I don't like fur personally, and while I have a vintage fur from my Oma I never wear it, but I don't know what should be done with it

though, admittedly, when I was about 13-14 I was very militant about this sort of thing - turning vegan, throwing away all my mother's leather shoes (got beat for that), joined ALF (but never bombed anything) et al
Some people go through extreme stages before finding that ever elusive, though very important, middle ground.

*the hunts should be humane, of course

It's horrible, it's cruel and that's my stand. So is the leather industry for that matter (that's a different story) so don't need to hear it. It's all cruel I know.

Fur is tacky! Tack-ay.

I sort of lust after my grandmother's coats, though. I am a bad person.
